I’m wondering how to navigate the El train from O’ Hare airport to the Cambria hotel. Where does the train drop you off and approximately how many blocks away from the hotel will that be?
i am not a chicago resident so definitely not an expert. i can tell you that Ohare is on the Blue line of the EL. depending on how much you want to transfer trains and such you could probably walk about 4 blocks to one station and then transfer to the Blue line. or you could take a short cab ride to a blue line station and jump on the direct. i would take that approach. the CTA is the company that runs the public transport in chicago. their apps and website are good. good luck.
Made that same trip two weeks ago. Took the blue line subway from O’Hare to the Washington station, walked about 3 minutes through the underground shopping area to the Jackson station of the red line, went north (on the train toward Howard) 4 stops to the Chicago station. Cambria is an easy 5 minute walk from the station.
Buy a $5 ticket. It’s good for both the blue and red lines. I have the same event in Chicago every year, and we stay at the Cambria. The hotel is great and the subway is always easy.
we took Uber both ways for around $40-45
We rode the train from Midway and the stop was about 8 blocks from the hotel. It was an easy walk.
