How did you reached to this last point. Did you hired 4X4 jeep or Local bus from Dhanushkodi village. Want to know present condition of travel arrangement to reach to last point.
I visited the place using state transport buses...
Thank you all for your response,I had visited this place by State transport Bus which charges 30 Rs One side per passenger from Rameswaraam Temple.
Road is very fine upto Dhanushkodi. You can go there by any mode of conveyance . I hired taxi car which charged Rs 1200/- for 6 hrs and cover all the tourist spot including Dhanudkidi,Panban bridge, Dr.Kalam memorial etc.
The road up to Dhanuskodi is absolutely well laid right up to the tip. For comfort you could hire a cab which cost around 1300 rupees. cheaper Alternative would be government bus which also Travels right up to the tip.
Jeeps were used as a mode of conveyance few years back when there was no proper road facilities to reach there. Now they have well maintained roads from rameswaram to dhanushkodi that will take you to the last point. You may use your own vehicle or hire cabs, auto or buses, as per your convenience.
Dear friend, please go thro' my comprehensive information, furnished in reply to the question raised by "radhilsaneen", which is seen below, on the same subject. The condition of the road is absolutely fine, without any pot holes.
I took a local bus.
Hi, as already submitted earlier, I had travelled by my own Taxi hired at Bangalore for the circular tour. Used the same taxi to commute between Rameswaram and Dhanushkodi. Not aware about public transport on the route in question.
Thanks: Dr. Vinay Mohan
