I read your response to my review. I find it sarcastic and rude, and I am shocked to see that a business can speak to it's customers in this way.
The response seems to imply that this is not the first time I have visited and reviewed the restaurant; "you again Chris". I assure you that I and my "little Vietnamese girlfriend' have never been to your restaurant before. (We live in the south of Vietnam.) We stumbled on your restaurant by accident.
The prices I am comparing are those which I am used to paying, and the opinion about the taste of the prawns was that of my girlfriend.
Although I will now definitely tell people not to come to your restaurant, I want to know why you think it is appropriate to send a rude and sarcastic response to a customer who gave a truthful and objective opinion about your establishment.
Dear Chris O,
So sorry to confuse you. We had another abrupt review from another Chris, and the tag was T, not O. So we do agree that you were at Secret Garden at your very first time (and we do hope that will be …the only one).
Yes, we have nothing to debate that a half of your story was truthful. The price you gave to the fact was entirely right. But you know, what people really need is the full story. Obviously, you are living in the Southern Vietnam, your little Vietnamese girlfriend brought you to somewhere in the local market to feed you ten prawns with VND 100.000 that could happen easily. By that reason, you cannot and have no right to claim that's an objective opinion. It's precisely a subjective one on your own.
Please, Chris O. We know to run the business at this moment is very hard and the competition in town is really fierce. But it doesn't mean we have to survive by ingratiating someone. In the hosptality industry, problem is always there. And we are always willing to perceive guest's advices. We valued all of them a lot. But, it's not the way we have to curry favor with somebody or fawning over someone to conceal the mistake. We really need such kind of the contribution as what Helen T did. She kindly told us what we need to improve, not giving a bias nor a leasing as you did, Chris.
Dear Chris O, we will not take this argument further. Time should be spent for our improvement rather than wasting this way. We do hope very few people will be tingled with your instigation. Someones might follow you, but you know, life is always going that way. It’s forming our society.
Instead of our farewell, one more time, we strongly suggest that you should not drink that good version of rice whiskey which takes you only VND 20.000 per bottle of 500ml. It's definitely not something for drinking. It's a poison, Chris. Take care of your health.
All the best luck for you and your little Vietnamese girlfriend
Secret Garden's manager and team
First of all, we would like to give one more time our deep gratitude to Helen T who gave a very kind review for us. From the beginning, we totally understood that you were very amiable by trying to find the best words to raise us up. Maybe, because of the culture gap or our limited English skill, we made you misunderstand with what we tried to explain to you. Believe us, the big thing we want to create between you and us is nothing but an intimate relationship. We do hope our words this time is conceivable enough thus being able to take back your positive feeling about us. Really much looking forward to having your return. All the best for you, Helen T.
Yes. It explains why there was only one other occupied table while we were there.
