Thanks - I wore light weight dri-fit long sleeve shirt and pants (both that could be folded up to soften) that we used for camping last year. Wore tennis shoes that were waterproof.
Had no problem getting in boat, walking through large rocks where we rested and no sand got in. I got slightly wet except for the seat of my pants. I was dry within minutes, comfortable and warm. Others were wet, cold lost flip flops and loose fitting shoes in water, stumbled and in short were uncomfortable and not very happy.
For my first time out, I found it fun and invigorating. Thanks for the help, although a little late, was appreciated.
its calm water so its not like waves are dumping in on you. often times you crash/bump into other kayaks though & when they paddle away water gets on you. i def had a wet butt and didn't wear dry fit or bring a change of clothes. they also give you a dry bag so anything valuable can be stored safetly.
My shorts were saturated, I got very wet. I packed a change of clothing and changed afterwards.
