You can visit the site from 13th April to 12th November 2017. This is a night show and is amazing! We booked our tickets before leaving the u.k, go to the website Viaggio Nei Fori and you can book tickets online and get more info etc. There are two forums to visit Augustus forum (this is a sit down night show), and Caesars forum (a walking night show) this is the one we went to. We chose a late show around 22:30 on our last night and we were the only ones there! I wouldn't leave it to chance though as during peak times it books up quick. We plan on going to go to Augustus forum this year when we return to Rome. Being in u.k were lucky to be close enough to pop across to rome every year, our favourite place ever! If you buy tickets to both shows it works out a bit cheaper. Go you'll love it! If you have anymore questions just ask
This sight is always open - you can just walk around it. You cannot actually go in it.
Are you confusing this with the Roman Forum which is across the street and you do need tickets to see it. A combined ticket gets you into the Colosseum, Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. They are open everyday.
Have a great trip!
