First time on Windstar. We have sailed many times on Princess. We have always enjoyed our Princess cruises, but decided to try the small ship experience. We are so glad we did! We signed up for the 14 day cruise, but it sadly ended after 7 days because the cruise line decided to stop cruising to help protect the passengers and crew from Corona Virus. We felt this was a great decision by the company, but were sad to have a shorter trip. We were able to book a similar cruise next year on the same ship for a bargain. We are very much looking forward to it. We love the personal service the staff provided, and can honestly say this was one of the best cruises!! The food was the best cruise ship food ever. Can't wait to come back!

My wife and I have just completed another fantastic and unbelievably memorable journey with Windstar aboard the Star Pride. Our 7-day voyage embarked from Barbados and sailed through the French Antilles and British Virgin Islands. If you ever wanted to know what it would be like to have your own superyacht, then Windstar’s fleet is for you. Averaging less than 200 passengers, the ship’s crew almost instantly know your name and there is an easy sense of informality while at the same time, they will do almost anything to make you happy and succeed over and over and over. The ability to get on and off the ship quickly and with no lines, unlike the mega-cruise ships, is something that we value highly. The size of the ships also allows visits to ports such as St. Barth’s which is traditionally off-limits to the larger cruise ships. What made this trip even more special was the ability to upgrade to one of two Forward Owner’s Suites. Keith Ashley, Hotel General Manager, and Maria Luca, Assistant Hotel Manager, went out of their way to make our vacation one of the most memorable we have ever had. These are “real people” who are devoted to the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction but do it in an unassuming and natural way that makes you beyond relaxed and comfortable. If there were ever two people you would want to be in charge of your vacation, it would be these super professionals. The attention to detail that Windstar puts forth is beyond compare. The Deck Barbeque held in port at St. Lucia was beyond compare. Executive Chef Darin delivered everything from a raw seafood bar to the best lamb chops we have ever had. The food never stopped, and the dancing and partying went on for hours. What is especially nice about Windstar is that they allow the crew to interact with the guest on special occasions such the Deck BBQ. They are lively, energetic and add a vibrancy to the festivities. The Beach BBQ, held on Virgin Gorda, was another spectacular, managed by Executive Chef Darin Beverage Manager, Emilio. Not only did the create a complete spread of both hot and cold food choices but also a complete BBQ of chicken, hamburgers and hotdogs. We were amazed to find out that, not only did they bring the water toys from the ship, but over 100 chair umbrellas for the comfort of all passengers who wanted some shade from the sun. They, once again, forgot nothing. Leaving the Star Pride yesterday in San Juan was somewhat depressing as we said good-bye to Captain Ricardo Pinzon, Keith Ashley and their crew as we did not want our experience to end. However, the sad good-byes were mitigated by the fact that we were already planning our next Windstar cruise 😊

The crew on the Star Pride makes every cruise special. We have taken 14 cruises and the last 3 on the Star Pride. This ship has taken us to places we would not have found on our own. The food is always outstanding, if you don't see what you want, ask for it. It will most likely end up on your plate. Can't not emphasize enough how special the crew is. And we are always able to find incredible rates. It goes in for expansion and refurbishing this summer and should return to service this fall able to provide an even better cruising experience. Wow, we can't wait.

The highlight of this cruise was the crew. They were the most hospitable, warm, fun, happy, service-oriented group I've ever experienced in one setting. We also had a very comfortable stateroom; the largest stateroom we've ever experienced on a cruise of this level; over 275 square feet, with a bedroom with the comfiest bed and luxurious linens and a French balcony, double sink, full tub/shower marble bath, walk-in closet and vanity. All up-to-date. As some have stated, it's a little worn around the edges but you really have to look hard for imperfections. We loved hanging out in our room watching the sunset or enjoying sailing into port. The only weird aspect of the room was that there was only one U.S. friendly electrical outlet so we had to take turns charging our tech stuff. Wifi was expensive on the ship so we didn't pay for it and found that we didn't miss it, it was a great break from them! Food was plentiful and excellent. Extensive choices at each meal for everyone, great breakfast buffet with several items available to order (like waffles and eggs benedict), lunch for us took place in the ports for the most part. There was a beach bbq and 2 onboard bbqs which were really well-done. Dinner choices also included a reservation only steakhouse which was so excellent we went twice (you can make reservations as soon as you arrive on-board to check in, reservations at Candles or the spa were very easy to make, no hassle). The food service was exemplary--there wasn't enough they could do for you and your happiness was their pleasure! One piece of advice for purchasing excursions is to really try to get an accurate description of what is expected. We did four total and three were as expected but one was did not match the description. Ports were okay, they were more remote due to the small vessel size but remote can also mean very quiet and not much to do in the ports beside the excursions. The beach day was lovely and went very smoothly, everyone got of the boat and were zodiak-ed to shore quickly, enough chairs on the beach or all that wanted them. There were some motorized water sports offered, etc. This cruise was mostly populated by families with older (college-age) and some extended families with grandparents, mostly from the US, educated, quieter, no major partiers onboard. A few low-key entertainment choices in the evening including an unforgettable crew talent show--really fun and daily port briefings and cultural talks with local performances onboard that were fun. The spa was heavenly--one of the best massages I have ever had. They offered spa specials daily. Again, lovely staff.

This was our first cruise. Not sure where to start… We had a great time! The ship was lovely and well cared for, clean and in very good shape. All the common areas were well done and comfortable. The food was excellent and very nice choices of wine being served. But most amazing was the crew and staff. They all were so friendly and helpful. By the second day they all knew our names, not just ours, but everyone, and they know what you liked to drink. There was a lot of thought in the excursions and were well done. The BBQ beach day was so much fun. No question we will be doing this again!
