Hello, I took the boat on Saturday with my 2 children to Cherbourg from Rosslare and returned on Sunday having dropped off my children to their mother. Before reception, if you were unlucky enough to use the handrail on the escalator, your hands were black. At reception I was not greeted on board, it was a cold reception with short answers by a person obviously not happy to be there, the usual attitude unfortunately from people from the eastern countries. I thought about my trip back, as a newcomer to Ireland being not greeted by someone Irish and not receiving the usual Irish welcome. I did not meet one Irish person on the boat by the way (crew). The rooms were very clean and comfortable beds. The new tv system was not working and a polish guy did not know how to repair it. Dinner in the restaurant...more like canteen, we paid 35 € for slop, it was foul. Chicken tikka, the same was proposed next day!, was really bad and they successfully managed to make the rice completely bad also, and it’s hard to mess up rice. Fish and chips, the fish was greasy heavy and definitely not fresh, the steak pie... let me not use improper words to describe texture, meat quality and the pastry stuck on top...in one word gross. I got an non alcoholic beer the girls water. The night went well good beds as I said. Breakfast was worse in appearance than a cheap truckers rest, fried eggs swimming in oil, watered down scrambled eggs soggy toast and bad choice of sausages and bacon. Masks or no masks there were no smiles from anyone, just throw it up and take the cash. For the return journey the same food was proposed from the day before, reheated I suppose I didn’t dare to try. So I went for a nonalcoholic beer...there were none left! So I asked for a Guinness they were out of everything except Heineken, it was flat and tasted sour. The already drunk drivers did not seem to mind. I had a cabin on the way out and chose a reclining seat for the return journey, having had prior seen the spacious room. But no this time it was closed. I was redirected to a small evil smelling room, I couldn’t stay there it was revolting. I slept in the cafeteria where I had the chance to meet the night porter, who was very kind and opened the cinema for me at 3am. Very kind man. The only human interaction, and I’m chatty, during this 36h round trip. Also there were no more plug adapters available... It seems you are running a ghost ship just for truckers. It’s definitely not the way to start a discover Ireland journey. Some lazy bums need to get the show running and well.

This was our 4th. pullmantur cruise. They have always offered excellent value for money with included drinks. Everything has a Spanish orientation, food, staff, entertainment which for me enhances the experience. Older ship showing its age but kept in pristine condition and has just had a serious upgrade. Cannot recommend highly enough but recognise it would not suit everyone. ( especially from over the pond)

Horizon was small with one thousand passengers. Cozy and friendly comfortable. The food served in the restaurant was good both in quality and quantity. Menu change daily and service excellent. Wine and spirits was free and ad-lib. A most pleasurable Cruise while visiting quaint ports Malaga Cartagena Malta Chania Athens. Rain was an issue during November. On Board entertainment was very good. Daily floor shows with professional performers.

Cabins were clean, service was good in general especially the Filipino staff who speak good English and are always super friendly. Food was ok, well done in terms of cleanness and nicely delivered. Most was a bit plain flavored as compared with American style cruises. The Spanish speaking staff were fairly good with English and we speak a bit of Spanish and Tagalog which helped. The Casino was fun and many of the drinks were free that American Cruise Lines charge for. Overall? Not good enough to go again, but worth the effort to go.

Went on a one week cruise with my hubby and my parents. We loved the ports in Greece and Turkey. Celebrated mom’s birthday and the dining staff are warm and friendly. Sales staff need some work on their customer interactions. Love the nightly entertainment. Buffet was always great food selection. Some Older passengers We’re challenging to be around.
