Parents from overseas came visit and I recommended the outlet mall. Parking was plenty and the outlet was so big that they had to be strategic on the shops they wanted to see. They ended up returning to the mall for a second time to browse more shops.

This was my first time at this State Park and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon here. What exceptional, knowledgeable, and helpful folks that I got to meet today inside the Visitor Center! I enjoyed the conversation with them about the local history and in-depth knowledge of the in-house residence’s living in the aquariums! I hiked the trails and placards are placed giving information about the parks history and the Lee family. Families were enjoying the picnicking grounds and the Potomac River. I also got to watch the sailing skills of quite a few sailboats navigating on the Potomac River. Also, I was able from a respectful distance observer Ospreys flying into it’s nest and bringing fish to it.

This park in many ways isn't particularly special - there's a simple parking lot, a sign, and some trails through marshland to the riverfront. The trails are largely wide gravel roads and the scenery isn't always spectacular. Some of the trails are closed to protect wildlife - which turned a planned loop walk into a down and back. That said, I rate this reserve highly as we had the most success of any nearby park for seeing two full nests of bald eagles and other wildlife. Seeing them in the wild was a highlight of the trip.

This fairly busy walk on a board walk over marshlands was a highlight of our recent visit to this area. The views of turtles, fish, and birds were quite special, as were the broad views of the marshland. The history here is also interesting - as these life-filled wetlands are actually the result of many years of man-made impact on a natural creek. You'll also see quite a few people out for a walk or a run - but to make the best of a walk with little shade - I would go in the mornings or evenings if you can.

The 911 Memorial is hard to miss as it sits right outside the County Government buildings. There are four beams from the World Trade Center, laid out as they believe they landed. There is a small sign there explaining the purpose behind the memorial. It also directs you to go across the street to Freedom Park where they have a fountain shaped like the Pentagon and the names of all the Prince William County residents that dies in the attack (both in NYC and at the Pentagon). It is a lovely place and a fitting tribute.

One of the early settlers in the area that once owned quite a bit of property. Much of the property has been sold off but what remains has been maintained and is worth a visit. We went on a weekday that had been a bit rainy earlier in the day. The part we were able to visit was well maintained. Two volunteers were tending to the garden and to the flowers and shrubs. The person in the house give us a summary of the house and owners through the years. You can see the Potomac River through the trees. Lots of open area to walk around.

The Pfitz is one of the oldest stadiums in minor league baseball and will soon lose the team to Fredericksburg. The team is currently called the Potomac Nationals (aka the P-Nats) and they are the High-A farm team for the Washington Nationals. Many big leaguers have come through this team. Also, Washington regularly sends injured players to play here during rehab stints. There are a ton of things for kids to do and the whole game experience is a throwback to watching baseball as a kid. Tickets are super cheap, including $1 Mondays.

We go back every summer. My daughter is 8, and grew up going there...It is a perfect place to cool off on hot summer days. The kids have a great time and there is plenty to do to keep them occupied for a few hours. I would suggest getting there within the first hour of opening as the good chairs go pretty quick, especially on weekends. Tons of life guards and supervision. If you plan on going multiple times a season, a pass will save you money.

Overall, this is a really nice gi for the money. It looks great. It is lightweight, but durable and the stitching is sturdy. The black gi did not lighten even after multiple washings. And, it is quite comfortable. However, the pants are not true to size. I used the sizing chart and bought an A0 for my son who is 5'5" and 118lbs. The top is a little long in the sleeves, but otherwise fits him well around the shoulders and waist. The pants fit well around the waist, hips, thighs and calves. But, the length of the pants are way too short. They fit someone properly who is no taller than about 5'3". This was prior to even washing. (It didn't seem to shrink at all in cold, gentle cycle and line dried.) It would be nice if gi tops and bottoms were sold separately. We're considering buying an A1 so the pants will fit, then use the A0 top. But, for the price of 2 gi's I could have bought a custom fit gi.

This small nature reserve called Julie Metz Neabsco Creek Wetlands Preserve in Prince William County is part of the Potomac Heritage Trail. When we were there, the walking trails were quite muddy and some of then area near the trails were filled with standing water. Several boards are strategically placed to aid in transversing the muddy paths. I read it is home to egrets, persons and other birds but we did not see any of them. We did see some deer tracks in the mud. The park is populated with a great number of trees and plants. This is ideal for those who want to see wildlife and not have to walk miles and miles to do so. There is a small parking lot at the trail heads.
