- mreesebryanAtlanta, GA285 contributionsHad lots to read but many videos which were very informative. Watched video about inside of sub since I wasn’t physically able to do. Felt like I learned about important facts about sub. Enjoyed video about local boy who was POW in WW II. Stayed about 2 hours.Written September 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jubilee JerSpringfield, OH1,837 contributionsWe really enjoyed watching the son set over Lake Michigan on this chilly fall evening. It was well worth our time and glad we stuck around and watched the sun setWritten October 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - V R30 contributionsSome nice hiking trails. The one to lost lake was fairly easy bc it goes along cross country ski trails. Outdoor adventure place in the park looks fun, but was closed when we were there. Great ice cream place at the park entrance near outdoor adventure place. Very nice beach with cool sand dunes adjacent to it, no lifeguards. Great place to watch the sunset. Out of state costs: $11 per day (or $39 annual pass) gets you into all state parks. Note for dog owners: we were told that state park beaches allow dogs 100 feet from the swimming area which is marked by buoys. Nice place to spend the day!Written August 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Lois D1 contributionIt was very good. The group of museums was small enough we could see them all. With out having to rush. We were at a convention with half a day off. So it was perfect. We got so busy we couldn't get back to buy a cute tea cup necklace and teapot earrings. We have a group of ladies that do an old fashioned tea party. The lady who heads it up does such a great job. That set would be a perfect thank you gift. Is there a way I can buy it online and have it sent to me?

The winter globe fisplsys were awesome as was the Christmas vintage decorations. This museum of art continues to outperm most others and especially the Grand Rapids Art Museum. Everyone involved should be proud and the Muskegon Museum Art is the gem if the city. Also went to the city library next door. It is just as wonderful. Old and beautiful. Glass floors on the second level, stained glass windows and beautiful vintage wood bookcase.Written December 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aaron HCamdenton, MO4 contributionsIf you're interested in visiting a LST, this is the one! Since it isn't fully operational all the time the amount of access to see nearly all portions of the ship is unparalleled.
The other advantage to this ship being at dock are the museum quality displays filling the hull almost completely. A great number of the items are Veteran donated and amazing. Sand from Omaha Beach where this ship made several landings. The flag that flew on the LST-393 on D-Day is there as well. There are dozens of Nazi items; flags, guns, knives, grenades, newspapers, personal items etc. There are also several Japanese items as well. War time production NCO samurai swords, short swords, guns, rising sun luck flags etc. Lots and lots of real items, not reproductions, and it's not so crowded that you can't take your time to see all these incredible pieces.
The staff was friendly and informative. It is well worth your time to go check it out!Written September 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I would first make sure to buy tickets off their website the night before. We made the mistake of waiting to buy them online the day of and they went up in price. (We paid $45.00 per person plus $25.00 for onsite parking.) Going on a weekday is a great time to visit as the lines were not very long at all. Even if you weren't sure the length of the line and/or wait time, then you could check on their app ( which I highly recommend that you download after buying your tickets online.) The app will tell you live wait times for rides, it'll include a map of the park, also it includes which food places are open for service as well. Our party included older kids and a little kid, so while the older kids went on rides, I took our youngest to the Camp Snoopy portion of the park and it was a perfect place for a three year old to ride some kiddie rides and have fun while the older kids rode bigger rides. After spending three hours in the roller coaster park, we headed back out to the parking lot for a picnic lunch in the lot. It was a much better deal for us to eat lunch there, rather than spend a lot of money on bad food at the park. The park does takes your picture for re-entry so you will have no problem coming back in. After our picnic lunch we headed back inside to the water park ( we also changed into our swimsuits in our car and did not rent a water locker- which ended up saving us some money as well) There was not a lot of chairs to sit on at the front of the water park, but you really don't need a chair unless you plan to sit and relax while your kids play around the water park. Also this water park is huge! It has many great water attractions for kids of all ages- my youngest enjoyed the kiddie splash zone and my two older kids loved the water tube rides. We spent another three hours at the water park which was incredible! Overall, this park is a great place to spend the day but I would definitely visit on a weekday and not purchase any park food. One additional side note: this place is not as nice as Cedar Point or Six Flags, they have older rides and an older looking park, however you can still have a great day at Michigan's Adventure.Written August 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary DPlainwell, MI12 contributionsWatch the detour signs when traveling along the south shore to Lake Michigan. You have to go into a private drive to see the sign just up the hill from the Coles food plant. We got a tad turned around before getting the nerve to check the private drive. There is also a section
where you drive in traffic, maybe .75 to one mile. Otherwise we had fun and loved the beach views.Written August 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
