We visited here independently, not with a tour

Lots to see here besides just the US S Alabama. The airplane hanger is full of uniforms aircraft, vehicles, photographs, and other assorted items of the US armed forces. For additional cost, you can also use a virtual reality station. I thought the gift shop was relatively expensive however, I recognize that maintaining such a facility is also very expensive. Surprise, interesting item was the confederate states submarine that has been refurbished and has been put on display

We did not book a tour. We drove to the site and had a guided tour by a docent. The lady did a wonderful job. She had personal experience as she had been an attendant in an earlier Mardi Gras. The number of displays mostly costumes, was overwhelming. The prices in the gift shop were reasonable, and the price of admission was also reasonable.

The museum, while suited to a younger audience, had plenty of information and interactivity for adults as well. The obvious efforts to design the building around its maritime theme were quite remarkable.
The one person we spoke with, his title was educator, was professional and just a wealth of information.

The museum was way beyond our expectations. The exhibits brought everything to life. From Spanish discovery, to French, then English, then Spanish and then American occupation. With special exhibits for slavery and American Indians, including the highly significant excavations of a surprisingly advanced Indian culture up the river. Could easily have spent 2 days there.

This was a charming dive into each of the international influences in Mobile's history throughout its history. The docents have a lot of knowledge to share. This was well worth the time.

The best tour of an historical house museum we have ever experienced! Beverly Collins was an exceptional tour guide and made our tour interactive and conversational. We liked that we were invited to sit on the furniture and handle the household objects. We had great fun examining vases, silver, photos, and learning about the people, their story and lives through the materials in the home. Barbara also contributed greatly with her vast experience and historical knowledge. Both women conveyed incredible passion about the Richards DAR House through their dedication to the subject matter and narrative talent.

Colorful street full of bars, taverns, restaurants and, I presume, shops but since we went in the evening any shops there were, were shut.
Had a nice dinner at Dumbwaiter and a stroll afterwards. Check it out.

This ranks as one of the better Art Museums I have been at and I have been at a lot. The parking lot was very large, the park setting was nice for a change not battling the city to get there. Very reasonable in price, 12 adult 10 senior. You are greeted in the lobby and pay in the gift shop. Very clean museum with benches to sit and look at the painting. All types are represented. Don't miss the Children's section, great even without kids. All the elements of design, color, shape, scale, line and texture are shown. Loved the big yellow duck. The gift shop had art, jewelry, and something unusual for gifts.

A lot of history here and we’ll worth the time. The guide did an excellent job describing everything. We arrived not on the hour when the next tour was going to start. But since no tour was in progress at the time, they went ahead and started a tour just for us. Very thoughtful.

There is a lot of cool historical things on display here, but it's pretty basic. Kids and history lovers will like it for sure. Since it's a recreation (not their fault, obviously) it would have been cooler had it been the actual location, etc. But still a cool place. Check out the Mardi Gras park right next to it and inexpensive parking lot too.
