Different feelfing.Written May 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KodoDrummerBuenos Aires, Argentina65,207 contributionsNice well-maintaned beach, but the June waters are too chilly for us. Being relatively close to Beijing, it is a favourite getway for many Beijing citizens. But on our visit on a sunny but cool June weekday, there were only a few beachgoers, and even fewer in the water.Written June 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - stoyanov2013Seattle, WA91 contributionsFarely steep section of the Great Wall. Also has a cable car which was not working during the time of our visit. Definitely one of the best sections of the Great WallWritten April 23, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PaddyGlasgow, UK54 contributionsNice sandy beach. I visited during peak period but it was not overly crowded. Apart from one of those loud speaker adverts, it was reasonably quiet.Written October 3, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sam MCobram, Australia54 contributionsI visited with my teen daughter and seven year old daughter. Was 100 rmb to get in and 50 rmb for youngest. We caught bus 34 from the town centre and it was easy. We had forgotten our passport but the ticket seller was not fussed thankfully. Very glad we were walking around as the cars driving through were jam packed and inching forward whereas the walk was pleasant. We saw some beautiful birds that were chained up with only about six inches of chain. One of the birds was shaking which distressed my oldest daughter. Some of them were playing about but it was a pretty sad sight. Most of the animals seemed healthy enough but had bare ground or only concrete pens. The chimpanzees suffered pretty badly with just a concrete enclosure. The hippos had a large area but no mud or water to wallow in. The largest elephant was chained up but the others were roaming around. Everyone was pushing and shouting to feed them. The train ride was cool, we paid the 20rmb each to sit up with the driver but not a necessity. The animals mostly seemed in good condition and the wide open spaces were good. Plenty of toilets along the way. We took our own animal food such as carrots and lettuce but also should have taken some bread to feed the beautiful swans and ducks. We spent about three hours there and didn't see everything, we just got tired.Written October 8, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VNORVISan Francisco, CA318 contributionsThis is a very cool little place. I’ve not seen anything like it. Of course the beach is what makes it cool. Not worth a trip here just for this, but nice to stop if you are staying here. (Which you must be…. They won’t let you in the area otherwise).Written May 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Dave DVancouver, Canada373 contributionsIt was neat to visit the beginning of the wall. Laolongtou is really why we came to the area. - Craig HolmesDunedin, New Zealand25 contributionsPigeon Nest Park is a partially artificial but well appointed area adjacent to the surrounding wetlands. It seems to serve well to corral humanity into a controlled area thereby preventing us from tramping all over the wetlands proper. A great idea! The park covers a large area and you can easily spend a day walking around it. Part of the tree covered area is filled with artificial birdsong and I'm not sure if it is to attract other birdlife, which it failed to do when we were there, or if it is supposed to add t the general ambience; either way, it's not as annoying as you think it might be! You do need to buy a ticket to get into the park but it's not expensive and you can stay all day you want. The #34 bus will take you from Qinghuangdao station and Yingbin Road out to Beidaihe and the Wetlands for a mere 2 yuan per person. It takes about half an hour.Written October 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Adrian HLondon, UK11 contributionsHighly recommended if you are in the area. It's a forest park with temples and sea views. Not too strenuous.Written September 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
