- keith hChesham, UK1,032 contributionsVery Pleasant Plaza with big trees providing shade , many benches to relax on.
The huge Basilica dominates one side & other sides house cafes & eateries.
Cut up the side of the Basilica to access an open square that hosts various artesans on occasion. A little beyond here is an arcade that houses a few gift shops aimed at tourists.Written October 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Inside the ceiling is made with wood.
The square outside is a beautiful tree lined promenade where people of all ages stroll, sit, talk, relax, and eat ice cream sold by yellow uniformed vendors.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Entry fee is a bit expensive for bolivian standards: we payed 160 bs./adult. That includes the park and the swimmingpools.
You can easily spend 5 hours in Guembe. I advice to enter before noon and explore the park with a guide. Don't forget anti-insect spray.Written January 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The wineries are friendly and at least two or three are comparable to Chilean wines. Access is rather adventurous, and a trip from Santa Cruz de la Sierra takes almost four hours on a windy road. The landscape is breathtaking reminding me of Capão, Bahia, in Brazil.Written January 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - charles l4 contributionsI went there for 3days/2nights with Nick's adventure tours and my only regret is not opting for 1 or 2 additional days. The highlights were seeing 3 jaguars and 2 pumas and although obviously nobody can guarantee these sighthings it seems hard to believe that anyone could get so unlucky and not see a few large cats in this awesome , remote park. What impressed me most was how completely untouched and healthy nature and animals looked. By far the greatest wildlife experience I've ever had and well worth a few mosquito bites.Written December 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alex y ValeBattle, UK11 contributionsThe mall is pretty big, modern and comfortable. The food court is good and the restaurants outside in the boulevard were very nice and not too expensive if you’re a foreign. Cinabon was also very delicious. We’ll come back to this mall again.Written June 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- OverlandSoloMenlo Park, CA44 contributionsLa Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción, along with its attendant museum, is a must-see if you're in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The church is beautifully restored and has a great museum across the central plaza. I stayed at the very comfortable Gran Hotel Concepcion and ate at Buen Gusto. It's worth the hike from Santa Cruz. The area around the central plaza is clean, well-maintained, and very different from "typical" Bolivia. It may be the best thing to "see" in Santa Cruz.Written July 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joe YSanta Cruz, Bolivia28 contributionsThe Lomas de Arena is a nice park where you can spend a few hours playing in the sand. However, even with a 4x4 it can be a bit treacherous. I had to leave the car and walk 2-3km to get there.Written July 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lavinia RSanta Cruz, Bolivia64 contributionsIt is the perfect place to do rappelling in one or more of the waterfalls. You need to get to El Torno, from there you will drive through 3 rivers and many small "quebradas" so you def need a 4x4 vehicle and I dont recommend to go in rainy season because the road can be very tricky with all the water and mud.
In the top/base of the first waterfall you can do camping.
I went with NEX- which is an adventure company, you can search for it on facebook, the guides were very nice and knew very well the place. It cost me around 350 bolivians with everything includes (transportation from Santa cruz, food and equipment)

This is a great place to explore the local flora and fauna. I saw monkeys, turtles, even alligators! I also saw some big lizards but they like to hide from people and are difficult to see. I enjoyed a few hours here exploring the trails. It was hot and sunny and so I didn't need bug repellant, but I did need a LOT of sunblock, so if you go on a hot sunny day, ditch the repellent and slather on the sunblock. Unfortunately, a huge part of the park is closed due to "maintenance" and you're not permitted to enter, though there's also nothing to stop you. I erred on the side of caution however and didn't venture past the posted sign (see photos). There's a tall lookout tower you can climb that offers some views of the surrounding area. There are also some activities for kids. Overall, it was a nice place to pass a few hours. It's quite far from the center of Santa Cruz - $6 - $7 by Uber each way. Entry was $10Bs. I wish the rest of the park was open, but I'm happy I went. I think it's worth checking out if you have some time to spend in Santa Cruz.Written August 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MisssalissaAmsterdam, The Netherlands23 contributionsThe village is tiny, barely has a couple of houses. Probably most of them living from tourism. It is a place where fans of Che has to come. There are two statues of him and a school which is now a museum. It is cosy, definitely cheap place to stay for a night. Village itself is nothing special but the views on the way there are amazing!Written January 14, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James E4 contributionsSome nice artwork and a good place to relax but the roast beef sandwich and fresh juices stole the show, really very good.Written January 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
