The reclining Buddha is so much bigger in person than you think it will be! The temple is just one part of a very large complex with beautiful architecture all around. We went right at opening and were able to enjoy a leisurely walk around with fewer tourists than later in the day. It was a 300 baht entrance fee per person. There are lots of very interesting signs multiple languages. I would recommend doing this after you do the Grand Palace since that seems to be more chaotic than Wat Pho.

After a white knuckle water transit from the Reclining Buddha (across the Chao Phraya River) we walked into an amazing complex. Lots to take in and fortunately we had a very competent tour guide explaining the history and which King did what, etc. The outlay of the site is steeped in Buddhism, where we climbed the structure to the second level to take in the four images of Lord Buddha. Very interesting and how this religion accommodates many views. Open expanses of green grass to chill out, a necessity after a solid tour touring in Bangkok. Thoroughly recommend Wat Arun to better understand where Buddhism has its origins.

It's a nice place to visit in bangkok for shopping. Has a lot of options. If you are staying in the Sukhumvit area you can go by BTS Sky train from Nana station to Ratchatwei station. Prices are not the cheapest as we think but they are reasonable. It only opens on Saturday and Sundays. Good place for souvenirs.

Tickets are 500 bath per person, must wear long pants, can buy a long pant for 200 bath, only cash. Most of the buildings are closed to the public. Emarald Buddha's temple very crowded. No photos inside. Tourists had to walk longways in the hot sun to get tickets. Specially seniors walk in the hot sun to the main entrance, no sun cover, no water bottle. Wat Pho gives free. We want to get incense sticks, flowers but the angry policemen came shouting and grabbed my items and counted and gave three each with candles for three of us. Although I had very few in my hand he was not happy and shouted us to put donation! We told him this is not the Buddhist way and put back all the things!! Still he asked us to put donations and we left without putting any. All for money grabbing in this palace, not a single smiling faces in the staff!! Welcome to the land of SMILE!!!

I find it difficult to come up with words to describe the experience of visiting this remarkable temple. Its opulence is extraordinary, and yet, upon entering I was filled with a sense of tranquility such as I haven’t felt in a while. Perhaps the sincerity of many of those who entered to worship had its effect on me. Regardless, this is a temple that must be experienced to be understood. No photos are allowed in the interior. I believe that’s the way it should be.

Getting to this shopping complex is very easy on the Silom Line, just get off at the station (Silom Paragon), using exit 3. This is the shopping complex with all of the designer shops to satisfy anyone. Enough said there, but very wide walkways between the Tiffany’s, Gucci, etc shops. Downstairs there is a quaint food court which is very big with over 100 different goody places. Very much traditional fare on display, not Chinese. Some of the food shops do not take cash and one has to purchase a card!!! To guess how much you need to put on it?? Anyways, clean, big and very impressive. Easy to get there and get out off. Any worries with train connections as it has both under we ground and above ground trains just ask the friendly staff at ticketing.

This is a great place, Firstly you have his house made from a collection of ancient Thai houses and full of high quality Thai artifacts. It has a great tropical garden.
Then you have the silk shop showing the value of him saving the Thai silk industry, beautiful clothes and textiles.
The cafe and restaurant are very good and often near the fishpond or established tropical gardens.
Next door is the art gallery showing mainly Thai art

Smack in the middle of Bangkok Downtown - 10 mins walking from Chidlom BTS and Siam BTS - 10 Mins walk to Platinum Mall, Siam Square and MBK. Honestly things are pricier here - Probably due to the higher rent however it's clean, great location and lots of activities here. They always have some concert, special pop ups, exhibitions happening. You probably will meet lots of celebs here, for tourists there is the HUG Thai filled with Thai Food and Goodies. Numerous restaurants to choose from the choice is overwhelming. Decent service from maids, guards although the information desk can be mistaken at times. A pleasant place for the whole family - although tuk tuks and bikes here are expensive!!!

Free to locals and less than $2USD for tourists Wat Saket is arguably the most impressive Buddhist temple in Bangkok. Built in the Ayutthaya-era the main temple is accessed by 344 steps and thereby best visited during shaded times or early morning. Featuring impressive city views and an extensive collection of Buddhas plus paintings guests should set aside 60-90 minutes depending on athleticism and interest.
