Spent a week in Andorra and 6 days snowboarding in the area of Grandvalira.

On the website GV boasts over 300km of skiing area. Unfortunately there was several areas where snow level was low and some areas not so low but the pistes were still closed. Having said that, we still managed to cover nearly 200km during the week and still never got to cover the areas that was open.

We had a great week and the varied runs made the trip even better. A great resort area and I would recommend to any snowboarder.

Apart from the standard groomed piste's we also went off-piste a few times. It has lots of off -piste areas.

We arrived late in the afternoon so couldn't hike for too long. The trail above Andorra La Vella is really pretty. There's a parking lot right near the trail entrance

A hike in the UNESCO world heritage is a fantastic opportunity to escape the shopping madness of Andorra La Vella or escape the Skiing frenzy in the other villages. I walked here in March (warm winter, mind you) and enjoyed the sun, the silence, and the ancient valley. It is not an easy walk though, but very rewarding.

This Art Centre has a permanent exhibition of the sculptures of the late Josep Viladomat, usually acclaimed as the country's (he was a Catalan who lived and died in Andorra) greatest sculptor.

On the top floor they stage temporary exhibitions, often well worth visiting. Recently I went to see an exhibition of Salvador Dalí's illustrations for Dante's Divine Comedy: a fascinating display of the artist's diverse talent and extraordinary imagination. This was an exhibition owned by a private Italian collector which is on a tour of various countries.

Extremely easy walk which has been designed with blind people in mind. Andorra is a very very developed country and needs to do more of this . If you really don’t want to kill yourself or as a warm up this is a great walk !

The start of this climb is somewhat hidden in a bend of the road. Park your car at the side of the road in the Carretera d'Engolasters (Carretera d'Engolasters
    AD700 Escaldes-Engordany
Andorra, the road to Engolasters, at the bend where three roads join, close to the bridge).

Then after 10 minutes of walking you reach the first steps of the via ferrata. The climb took us 3 hours! We were slow because we had to secure certain passages with our rope for the children. So, bring enough water with you! We ran out of our 2 liters of water and we should have brought at least 4 liters for 5 people.

The climb itself is beautiful, steap and high. At the top you have some beautiful views over Andorra. The way down starts with a path that climbs even further to the summit. At the end you have to take the right descent (turn right, not left to Engolasters) and the walk down, through the forrest takes another 45 minutes.

All in all it is half a day climb with (experienced!) children (6-11 years old) and some sections needed to be top roped to give them that extra feeling of security but otherwise the climb is not difficult (easy to medium).

We ended in Andorra city to eat fries and hamburgers and beers to celebrate this beautiful climb. We wish there were more such climbs.

go to the old town and enter the church and be surprised by its sheer beauty. it ids free but do not let that fool you. Some free entrances are just spell binding and this is so.

Actually the museum is not bad. Nice works well presented.
The problem is that the number of works is really limited (about 30) and so I think that the ticket is very expensive considered the few number of paintings.

We hiked from Escalades, and it was harder than expected, which made the destination feel a little underwhelming. There were lots of people enjoying the Bosc Aventura, which is good, but also not what we expected. We ventured to les fonts hoping for an improvement... That was a bad idea. In hopes of making the most of the hike, we went to the church, and that made it worth it. It's way cool. To be clear we've done a lot of hikes to remote lakes, and this wasn't like that. We'll try something a little more our style next time. All good!

This walk is highly protected from the elements which is great when either it’s hot or raining conversely it can be cold due to the shade it can also be wet? To me it’s not my favourite walk but it’s easy to get there from Andorra La Veila without a car. Relatively easy in Andorra terms but it that means steep still for people not from of the mountains. One of the first walks I did when I moved here
