What travelers are saying
- Jose Luis RSantander, Spain256 contributionsIf you go on your own, you can park your car or bike free of charge. The entrance is also free but be aware, specially in hot season, that you have to dress properly as you are in a religious spot. Women cannot wear shorts or show her backs.
There are some shops where you can buy drinks, snacks or a souvenir. Prices are not expensive
After visiting the Big Buddha, when go down to the exit, you can find monks and donate some money for them; for instance, me and my son donated 100 thai baht each and the monks gave us a rope bracelet.
Finally, its quite easy to see monkeys in the forest around the Big Buddha and at the car park. Dont play with them as the can bite youWritten March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Food and drink prices a lot higher than expected and most places have the same food.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This place is a heaven for elephants that have had a tough life and are at last being looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the mahouts who love their elephants. Great experience feeding , bathing , scrubbing and washing these magnificent creatures. Lots of photographs were taken by staff members and provided free of charge on the internet. To cap it all we were provided with a tasty buffet before leaving. If you want to see how elephants should be looked after this is for you. Can't recommend it highly enough.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Russell3939Castle Rock, CO808 contributionsWe had been looking at this beach from a far all day from different high viewpoints in Phuket. With how green the water looked from a far I thought that it would be turquoise water when we got there. It wasnt. There are no facilities(showers or bathrooms) that we could see. We set up at the far left if looking at the water where the sun chairs are at to rent. 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas was 400 baht. The sand was extremely hot, so bring some water shoes. The water was like bathtub temps. I could see where that would seem nice, but we were hoping for a cooler dip based off the heat outside. The water color up close was nothing to write home about.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ONaouraDubai, United Arab Emirates189 contributionsSo the beach is divided into 2 parts. One where you can bring your towel and lay down on the sand for free or the other part where you can rent a sunbed with an umbrella. The rent on Patong Beach was 100 Bhat per person/sunbed. you will find plenty of people walking along the beach offering drinks, juices, coconut, food, sunglasses, even massage services,..you name it. The beach is relatively clean and the water is not bad. No facilities at allWritten March 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They are not government owned so rely on donations from across the globe. They also need volunteers.
We had a tour of the grounds and insight into the work that they do including education into the dog meat trade.
We had a good 45 mins in the puppy enclosure, this one didn’t stop tugging at my dress, naughty boy lol.
If I didn’t have my own rescue dog I would have adopted one right then, all
They want is love.
Go see them and help support them.Written March 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
