What travelers are saying
- TakadaEnglishCrewJoetsu, Japan17 contributionsThis is in Myoko city and like a nature park. There is a big pond in the park in the middle. We can take a walk around the pond watching many kinds of plants. For example in May, we can see water plantains and in fall, we can enjoy Autumn leaves. Especially what I like the most is Mount Myoko. We can see Mount Myoko above the pond. It is very beautiful! Also we are allowed to play with pets and there is a small restaurant.Written July 26, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DikiwiAuckland Central, New Zealand362 contributionsWe did the walk to Naena on Xmas day from Akakura Onsen as the snow was bad so we didn’t fancy snowboarding. It’s a pretty easy walk. And you can walk the back roads from Ikenotaira - from the trail around the Imori-ike pond. We were shocked to run into a family (30+) of snowmonkeys around Suginohara. You can catch the bus back (if it’s running) and stop at Ikenotaira SuperOnsen. Nice day out exploring the area.Written December 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cidernethong kong104 contributionsthere is a park with a lot of space, freestyle riders will not be disappointed. If you drive there, there are 2 main parking lots.Written March 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hannah SBuderim, Australia74 contributionsThere are some great green runs here for beginners and ski parks with some little jumps. There are a few restaurants to choose from and an onsen about 10 minute walk down the road.Written March 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bakerboy12Mount Buller, Australia80 contributionsHaving the choice of 5 different resorts (about 5) on any given day was great. I stayed at the Seventh Door at Akakura Onsen and took a guided trip to a resort each day. Loved it!Written May 9, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Brent AHervey Bay, Australia36 contributionsWe stayed at Lotte in Arai and unfortunately only found this place on the last nice, food options here when sick of expensive 5 star meals at resort

Looks brand new to me as the building looks like it had an upgrade.
Have a sit and have a drink at the center.
Walk and absorb the information provided by the visitor center in a well documented exhibition room.
The pond facing the visitor center is a must see during the autumn as the reflection of the mountain and autumn colors are captured beautifully.Written October 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rod WWarwick, Australia35 contributionsMy only complaint about this lovely ski area is snow boarders whose sole aim is to get from the top to bottom as fast as possible whilst shredding the piste.Written February 29, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jub07perth53 contributionsThis is a lovely ski area for beginners and intermediates. it is quiet most of the time, even weekends weren't too busy. however, the runs aren't always groomed which can be a problem. also the infrastructure is pretty old and run down on some slopes. overall though, we had a great time!Written February 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew6 contributionsHats off to the Myoko Snowsports front desk. In the lead up to my trip, they patiently fielded my questions via email since it can be tough to find info in English online. My instructor Niels was also excellent. Instead of just telling me nebulous tips like "roll your right hip", he broke down the movements and gave me concrete pointers on things that I could do to achieve what he was trying to teach me ("tips together, early pole plant, etc). He gave me one of the best lessons that I've ever had and showed me several drills that I can continue to work on for months.Written February 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
