This museum was well-worth a visit, even for “non-car” buffs. There are lots of old and classic cars, all very well-preserved.

It’s nice but it’s so expensive! It’s just something that you’d like to try if you’ve never been. It’s like a one time thing for us. We paid $102 each adult and $71 for each kids. We went on a weekend and the line was long, expected.
When you get to the top peak, there’s a food area and that also was an expensive meal as well.
We did enjoy the views during the ride and up the top.

Nice accommodations in the remodeled rooms. Lots of Slot machines (economics of less employees?) and few table games. Outdoor hot tub was closed but on checkout, when mentioned, was refunded the resort? fee!
Buffet was varied and everything tasty and presented well.
I’m not a casino person, the cigarette smoke was horrible.

Fun tour and roaming around the Pope and Baldwin estates and land on the shoe of the lake. Self guided and self directed tour for us wandering around the many buildings and land that once belonged to these two wealthy families. Its a fun diversion during the day to get away from the crowded streets and even crowded trails to visit a peaceful plot on the lake.

Even in the winter, and in cold weather, this park along the river is lovely. Lots of places to make a picnic, places to sit, some performance space, and a long walk with views of downtown, the mountain, and the rushing river.

This is the place to go for gambling action in Reno. Most of the other hotel casinos are empty and boring, but this place attracts a crowd. The design is modern and fresh and the condition is excellent. They have just about all the games you might want, plus a lot of good food.

Being rather out of shape, instead of taking the "steep" hike down from the highway parking area to the castle (if you could find a parking spot), we took the boat tour out of Camp Richardson to get there. It was a beautiful home and the docents provided an excellent tour and history of the property, architecture, and furnishings. You even get a little free time to explore the parts you are most interested in. From the castle, the visitor center has an archival video and photographs that were very informative. The lower Eagle Falls are a very short and easy hike from the castle and were a bonus feature we hadn't been aware of beforehand. The only detriment was that for the public, there are only pit toilets available onsite. Some women had issues with that, so be prepared if that is important to you.

Although we did visit the excellent museum, our primary interest was birding. We saw a white-headed woodpecker, which somehow eluded us at Lake Tahoe. The area was very birdy, including fall migrants passing through. Donner Lake is visually gorgeous, although the constant traffic noise from nearby I-80 diminishes the experience quite a bit. The water is very cold, but our daughter took a swim anyway. I just dipped my feet. They quickly became numb. Our picnic by the lake included jerky that we purchased at the museum. I do not think I could have convinced my family to come just for the museum, but there is much more to this park than that.

Big surprise! Mama bear with cubs enjoying a fresh Kokanee Salmon lunch. We found mama bear first and the two cubs trickled in. This image was taken where the boardwalk curves around at the open marshlands. Just beautiful! Check Google reviews for full video footage.

We saw this location on TripAdvisor and were very interested. We were not disappointed.
These are rescued animals that are in e collect habitats.
It is a dirt and gravel path that leads you on the side of a mountain. So wear good walking shoes as they recommend. You must get there at opening to witness the bear feeding. It is well worth it.
The staff are great as well. Very friendly and full of information. A great place to visit for sure!! Thanks everyone, this was a fantastic experience!!!!

The staff are professional. The place looks good and has all the games you might want. But where are the players? It was almost empty, sometimes not a single person at the tables. The business has migrated elsewhere and the management needs to do something to attract customers.
