    Review of: Palmanova Città Fortezza - World Heritage Site
    Historical meaning, must-see
    This city/fortress is just incredible, if you are there go see it even just for a half an hour because it is of great historical importance and in reality it is not very big as one would expect it. I did not have much time and I am still happy that I visited it so now I just have a reason to come back with some more time and to explore more thorougly. Plus, it is UNESCO world heritage site, if that does not convince you, I don't know what it does.

    Review of: Piazza Grande di Palmanova - World Heritage Site
    Beautiful, Unusual & Huge Piazza
    the central piazza of Palmanova reflects the shape of the town's fortress layout and is interesting for that as well as for its unusually large size, the water features in the centre, and its collection of interesting, attractive buildings and statues which all reflect its past role as important fortress town. It is certainly worth a visit if one is in Palmanova and is one of the key sights in town. The town itself is moderately interesting due to its history and layout as a fortress town and is worth a visit if one is in the area and has time. There are places to eat or relax around the piazza and there is a small tourist information centre just off it on a street. That said, the town and its piazza have limitations and are not an important must-see. We stopped here because we were driving back to Venice from Slovenia and, having been to Venice before, didn't need any more time in that town so we had some time to visit another place. We had earlier on the trip been in Treviso and did not have enough to to visit any place else of note on this day.

    Review of: Duomo dogale SS.Redentore
    Nice and unavoidable (since it is on the main square)
    Unfortunately I did not have time to enter it, but just from the outside it looks nice and elegant. But from what I've seen on pictures of other travelers, I would recommend to enter it and admire it not just from the outside. It is practically on the main square so it is a must-see.

    Review of: Museo Storico Militare
    Nice to do in Palmanova
    This is a small museum with a fairly good collection of items. The surrounding setting gives it more significance as the city of Palmanova was designed as high value a military outpost at one time. Better visit as part of the Tourinst info office City tour on Saturdays at 9:30 Am. Tour is in Italian but they will speak English is you ask for it.

    Review of: Porta Udine - World Heritage Site
    Interesting Gate With Views and Walking Guide
    This gate is on the NW side of Palmanova and is one of the grand gates through the fortress walls into the town. It is next to the aqueduct and has a small parking area across the moat with a map showing the walking trails around the walls and moat with information. It offers some nice photo opportunities and is probably the best gate to visit in town.

    Review of: Acquedotto Veneziano di Palmanova del Friuli - World Heritage Site
    Recommended.
    Incredible piece of history, I am just sad I was in a rush and could not go out and enjoy it completely. But for me it is just another reason to come back with some more time. Recommended. Also, it is right by the entrance Udine, so you could visit them both.

    Nice arrival
    This arch gives you the feeling entering a special place. And so it is. An afternoon is sufficient for a visit.

    Review of: Statue dei Provveditori
    Nice Collection of Statues of Local Officials
    This is a collection of local officials of the Venetian Republic. They ring the piazza in the centre of town and flank the streets from the gates to the piazza. They help give the piazza its moderate monumental atmosphere.

    Review of: Cimitero austro-ungarico di Palmanova
    Pass by, but interesting
    We have just passed by it, but it is still very interesting site. Personally, as a tourist I never really visit cemeteries and don't really understand people who do it, but I try not to judge them. Overall, I think it has its own importance as every other "attraction".
