It was paradise - clear semi-warm water that deepens over time, but allows many to take in the waves from the shore.

Dolphin shows not really my thing but a fellow traveller did say he was impressed with the quality of the show compared to others he's seen in the US. The marina shops and restaurants were great.

We were staying in Remedios and decided to take a cab to the beach. An amazing 1950s pink convertible turned up to take us for 60£. The driver waited all day for us,
The hotel whose sunbeds we used charged us £50 for a day of all-inclusive, mojitos on tap and a superb lunch. Just us, a young French couple and young girl's quinceañera and 3 pelicans. It was a good day.

Not much was open but it was a super cool vibe to be the only ones in the entire Pueblo. It was almost like a recently abandoned ghost town with music playing in the background but complete silence otherwise. I've been here prior to the pandemic and it was always so packed full of people so maybe the effect was greater since I'd seen it full so many times!

As far as shops, the cigar shop is great and the lady working there was extremely helpful. Just note that due to the pandemic, not many cigars are being made. They didn't have many of the popular cigars due to this shortage so we had to choose some others but she was so helpful and we ended up getting some great stuff.

Other things that are currently open are a little general store, the spa, the gym and the bank. The bank by the way is pretty much useless you can only take out Cuban pesos which can only be used for tips. Everything in the stores costs convertible pesos which aren't used anymore so the only way to get stuff is with Visa although some shops accept USD

Things didn’t seem overly open at the market. And not as many vendors. That being said, I bought more from vendors at this market than the larger one. Did not eat here though.

A bit confusing when you go in.
You meet with someone at a desk who gives you a list of their plentiful services.
You choose what you want then the guy at the desk talks to someone else, kinda looked like a manager. They talk back and forth while you are there waiting
Eventually wisked away for a spa treatment that was very nice.
Most employees dont speak english, not a big deal.
    Overall i recommend.

The hotel us pretty much fully open and the guests beginning to return.
Staff outnumbered guests during our stay. They were all really great. The garden/maintenance folk kept the place looking wonderful and super clean. Beach guys always on hand with snorkelling and weather advice. The coral and fish just a few yards from the beach was spectacular! We had finished a busy 10 day trip through the sights of West and central Cuba and this place was a peaceful haven to rest and wind down. We met some lovely people and the staff were great fun. They spray the resort each evening but take precautions for mozzies and sand flies anyway. We would certainly return. We're reliably informed it's the best along the Santa Maria strip.

Excellent – from the moment Amanda at Cuba Travel Network contacted me, I felt I was in good hands and so it proved to be. Everything was meticulously organized, the itinerary, tourist visas, guides and transportation. We spent a week in Cuba, and in that short time had many memorable experiences; Old Havana; the Tropicana; the beauty of the Vinales area; Trinidad, a World Heritage UNESCO site; tobacco farms and sugar plantations and finally the Che memorial. Over the period of our stay we had four guides and numerous taxi pick-ups, every single appointment was precisely on time. The vehicles we travelled in were of a high standard and all drivers drove expertly, with care and consideration. However, what made our holiday was the guides. They were all charming, well informed, articulate and our thanks go to Rachel, Julio, Rey and Randy who made our visit an unforgettable experience.
