What travelers are saying
- Maureen SDarwin, Australia753 contributionsWe were on a tour from Salta to Cachi with a small group of travellers with a very informative guide who told us that the height of the cactus above the ground is the same height under the ground. Never knew much about the cactus except they are very prickly. Some of the cacti were so tall that I felt very small beside them.
Well worth a visit with 2 notice boards providing a little information.Written 27 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was beautiful with the mountains surrounding itWritten 2 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Maureen SDarwin, Australia753 contributionsFriendly greeting by the staff member, wandered around the lovely courtyard and then into the museum. We browsed along the shelves admiring the many old pottery items, local to the area. Well worth a visit.Written 27 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Deborah TChicago, IL1,126 contributionsThis church is one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in the Calchaquà Valley. It is a small Spanish church that was built in the mid 1700s. Cactus wood was used in the vaulted ceiling and even the confessional. There are three bells on the upper facade of the church. It was declared a National Historic Monument in 1945.Written 28 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ColesterolTigre, Argentina419 contributionsIf you like altitude wine, wines from El Molino de Cachi are the ones to try.
Malbec, Sirah and Merlot are sold in wine stores downtown Cachi, as well as in Salta City.
Incredibly low priced, so excellent quality/price ratio.
Grown at 2400 m altitude, the grapes give a wine that needs some decanting and oxygenation prior to getting its full flavour.
If you are lucky, you may be able to get a tour at the winery, which unfortunately no longer operates as a hotel.
If you are not, touring the dirt roads of "Cachi Adentro" is a treat. Drive with care, since you may find shepherds with their goats crossing the roads or kids playing without paying attention to sporadic traffic.Written 8 January 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. During the afternoon he showed us places we would have never found alone. They also explain very well all the best of Cachi. They provided us also for FREE with cold water, which we forgot to bring. This tour is a perfect way to learn about Cachi. Many photostops also during the trip, which is great.Written 2 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
