- Martin Schofield16 contributionsThe Swiss Air Force has flown an eclectic mixture of aircraft over the years, and this is reflected in the astonishing collection it maintains at the Fliegerflab museum at Dubendorf Air Force Centre. Easily reachable by train, with a ten minute from the local station, the two exhibitions are well lit, uncluttered and, for those of us who like to photograph aircraft, generally very well laid out. Raised walkways help to give alternative views. The curators could teach many other aviation museums a few lessons in presentation. Other non-aircraft exhibits scattered throughout the collection help to tell the story of the Fliegertruppen from its early days. + friendly, helpful staff
+ rooms are challenging, you really need to think about the mission and cooperate
+ cool atmosphere
+ you can take a break during game time
+ lockers available, which is great as you need to be comfortable
However, there are a few elements that could be improved and affected my experience.
Here is what I did not like:
- very low safety standards, some rooms require physical activity but there is not enough protection really...
- some rooms were a bit dirty... in general I am surprised there is no "clean shoes" policy in the game zone...
- a few game machines, elements should be renovated or fixed
I would recommend to go during the week or weekend morning. On Saturday from 2pm you could already feel more people and rooms were occupied.
