Totally worth itWritten September 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - ddcoolVancouver201 contributionsYou do not need a guide at all here. We just rented gear (full face masks are available) and waded on in. Unfortunately we didn’t have water shoes and is extremely slippery getting in from the rocks on the shore. I wiped out and one of the locals told me there were a lot of broken bones caused by falls. Luckily I bounce well. We saw the sardines and about 4 sea turtles. Amazing. Not so amazing all the people, constant stream of guides diving down to take videos of their clients. Feet hitting you in the head. Flotation devices bumping into you. I would hate to be there in the high season. We also saw a blue starfish and 2 clown fish in their anemone. Morning is the busiest with tour groups. We also went later in the afternoon and there were less people but the water was much rougher.Written December 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pestmanNew Jersey361 contributionsThe beach is ok. It's coarse white sand and water is clear. Water is clean as well. It's ok to spend a couple of hours here but don't expect Boracay or Coron level beach here. Some sari-sari stores renting cottages and food but nothing good.Written March 3, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tuva J3 contributionsSuch an amazing place!! The dogs are vaccinated and get anti-rabies shots every year, so you can really cuddle with them, they are all so nice and cute! We even got to meet a new puppy, rescued just a few weeks ago. This was for sure a top experience in Moalboal and if I’m ever back here I’ll for sure make another visit. Highly recommend!Written December 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 20gina2014Queensland, Australia25 contributionsOver 3 hours private car ride from Cebu City, that includes road works along the way. Have to pay an entrance of 10 pesos per adult at HK resort - that excludes the cottage/shelter use. White sandy sea shore. Had to wear crocs when in the water, was rocky. Prepare an old 5 peso coin for when you use the toilet/shower - it costs 5 pesos per small bucket of water.Written February 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John MElkhorn, WI606 contributionsThey are growing and adding options to the area. This place opens at 8 and closes at 8 so if you arrive late you have fewer options. It's a smaller place so some offerings tou see at other places are not available or not operating.Written August 21, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JasminJ_1968Vienna, Austria17 contributionsPlanet Action (at Tipolo resort) offers the most challenging canyning trip on Cebu. It even is not able to do it when there is too much water in the canyon. You have to hike for 2 hours to the top of the falls. Then you start to abseil through the falls. And you have to jump several times several meters into the water below the fall. It is a narrow high canyon and there should be sun when you do it.
There are numerous falls and jumps to do during your way down the canyon. At the end there is even a 10m jump to do (you can avoid it, if you are not brave).
Planet Action offers also a meal after the trip through the falls.
It is not cheap, but it is worth the money. You should have good shoes, because of the long slippery hike to the top of the falls.
Planet Action is the oldest company offering canyoning in Moalboal. All others did copy what they did explore first. The Tyson Falls is only offered by Planet Action.Written February 6, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Got a little disappointed though but the green plants were so pleasing with the eyes.Written November 10, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John Huan Vu (San Jose)2 contributionsWe had a three night stay at "Moalboal Turtle Haven 1 @ La Concepcion Cove" hosted by Lorelie (along with Vladislav) at Moalboal on the island of Cebu, Philippines. We flew into Mactan–Cebu International Airport (CEB) and took a 3.5 hour taxi ride to Moalboal to witness the majestic waters, have a chance to swim alongside sea turtles, and take tours to nearby waterfalls, all while eating, drinking, and getting a massage in a vibrant small town. As Airbnb Superhosts ourselves, we want to share our feedback to ensure that future Airbnb guests will have a more comfortable stay. First and foremost, the hospitality by Lorelie (along with Vladislav) was impeccable from the arrival with mango juice, to providing a welcome booklet, to setting up tours or massage appointments, to preparing a generous breakfast (for a small fee), to allowing us to rent gear to properly snorkel or swim, and most importantly, to calling trusted drivers to pick you up to and from La Conception Cove. Second, the shoe-free, and clean, bedroom and private bathroom for our room is located upstairs on a steep stairway adjacent to other rooms sharing a common area with a fridge, filtered water, couch, and a balcony seating area overlooking the beach. Within the bedroom, there's an effective air conditioner, a flat sheet to place on top of the mattress protector, a flat sheet to cover ourselves during our sleep, body towels for the shower, toilet paper, and some furniture to organize and settle your items. Third, the bathroom is extremely cozy with the doorway, toilet, shower head, and sink being no more than 2 feet from each other. It is important to note that there's no hot water and it is best that you bring or purchase your own toiletries. Fourth, the internet was very helpful to communicate to Lorelie (along with Vladislav) when we had any issues, wanted to put an order for next day's breakfast, or request for a ride. Please note that the internet isn't the fastest and can drop from time to time depending on the weather and usage from other guests. Lastly, despite being 10 minute car ride from the center town of Moalboal, nothing will beat being steps away from a gorgeous, nearly empty beach adjacent to the shallow waters to swim or snorkel. If you're lucky enough, you can catch a glimpse of sea turtles and other fishes! Overall, if you want to stay at a relaxing and quiet place next to a beach with excellent hospitality while overcoming the cozy bathroom, I would recommend their place!Written December 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarce E2 contributionsCool place to stay if you want be closed by nature, good place to stay with friends and play archery, bit far from town for party but overall it was okay since we have motorbikes. People here are very friendly and helpful with questions.Written March 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
