- Nic H4 contributionsSecond visit here. Icy day so we arrived around 11.20am to give plenty of time to complete the trip before temps drop - plenty of parking available. It is quite expensive for a family but there are a lot of paths/steps/ rails to maintain. Walked with two 8 year olds (they were 7 first visit and did Yorkshire 3 peaks when younger so good walkers but you need to be reasonably fit and sure footed for this walk). Far better in winter than summer when it was like a motorway of people. There was also more water off the hills than in summer so falls more impressive. Friendly and relaxed staff and simple set up- booking online helps with avoiding disappointment on busy days and knowing it will never get too busy! The staff were so accommodating of our total lack of experience and really good with the children (aged 5 and 11). By the end of the session my 11 year old was scuttling up the wall like a spider (she climbed higher than me!) What a pleasant surprise was to find this pearl of Ceramic Art after hours of hiking! The staff man was very nice, friendly and introduced us to the story of Ingleton’s Pottery, also we were very lucky to be at the right moment of new releases so we ended bying plenty of ceramic items - plant pots, vases, lamp stands.. Such a beautiful pieces! Here is a photo of lamp stand , one of my purchases.
