What travelers are saying
- Elliot GovierLancaster, UK24 contributionsWeligama beach is large so it rarely feels too crowded. There's plenty of space on the beach itself, and in the water. There are no rocks or reefs either so its relatively safe for surfing. The only problem is the litter and local water pollution. After a day of swimming my shorts are brown from all the dirt in the water. If you go swimming, you'll feel plastic moving around near your feet (especially after heavy rains). There is next to no underwater visibility. So for swimming or snorkelling, you just need to get a Tuk Tuk to one of the many other nice beaches in the area. But for beginner or intermediate surfers its the best spot in the area.Written 18 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- J-BStaffVancouver, Canada11 contributionsI had a 1.5 hour lesson with Ashan. The booking process with Manju was smooth and the lesson was a great time. It was my first go at surfing! Ashan is a lovely, patient and helpful instructor who gives great feedback to help you catch those waves and stay on the board longer. I briefly met Manju, the owner, who was very friendly and came to introduce himself. I highly recommend booking your surfing needs here! Every staff member was very friendly and welcoming. It has a great atmosphere as well as a great surfing experiencing.Written 29 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- ally j1 contributionGreetings from London. Pradeep gave my friends and I the most unforgettable and special experience in the South of Sri Lanka. We explored lake koggala and visited Temple Island, Cinnamon Island and the Herbal gardens. He had such a great sense of humour and lots of knowledge and wisdom to impart

- Ines SLondon, UK7 contributionsAn absolute must do if visiting the area. Karu and his wife are fantastic hosts and were extremely welcoming.
The class takes around 2hrs, plus time to enjoy the delicious food you’ve cooked, and takes places in the front garden area of their home (with lots of home grown fruits, vegetables and spices!).
We cooked around 7 dishes which largely involves preparing vegetables and spices, with some traditional cooking techniques thrown in in between.
There was a power outage whilst we were there but Karu had an ingenious back generator approach so it didn’t impact our experience.Written 5 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
