Just an awesome way to view the ocean, as well as the mansions in the area. We picked up the Cliff Walk near the Breakers mansion, then walked along to ocean - taking it all in. The walk can be rough in spots (you'll see this in one of the pics) but it's pretty level with little elevation gain. You won't want to miss this, especially if the weather is nice, and the sun is either coming up or setting.

Ocean Ave has some amazing views of the sea. The waves were rough today and crashed over the barrier because of the storm this morning. There are plenty of places to pull off and take pictures. A must see in Newport.

It starts as a main street with some shops and restaurants and then turns into a street with some of the nicest mansions in Newport. Definitely worth seeing the start and end of the avenue.

this is an easy access to Newport attractions such as cliff walk and easy to find easy to leave, but the attractions on the beach are closed and its a windy cove that smells pretty bad..
Take it for what it is and its fine, the view of the cliff walk is awesome, you can see people walking it, definitely come here look up you will see its easy walking at this end. Billions of dea birds, but tons of ocean beaches if you want to sit relax stay... not this one.

Super expensive parking but still crowded. Go to one of the public beaches instead and visit Flo's for food.

While driving out to Fort Adams, we saw this beach and took a quick stop to take in the views of the bay. Street parking was free and abundant (mid-afternoon on a summer weekday). The park had a covered pavilion near the beach, which was useful for us, as it was a sunny day. There are walking trails, and a few historic memorials. You also get a good view of the bay, while avoiding the crowds of downtown Newport.

At the end of Ruggles Ave, the rocky beach provides dramatic views of the surrounding areas. Recommend not going down to the beach unless wearing reef boots, the rocky shoreline can cut your feet. Super beautiful and a great end to the Cliff Walk.

We took the last Saturday lantern tour of the season in a quad car and it was really, really fun. I took my 10yr daughter and two 13 yr boys (son and friend). They loved the fire pits at the halfway point (bring s’mores stuff!) and going fast on the way back. The sunset was amazing and very memorable. The cars were easy to pedal and it was well paced. Would go again - probably in warmer weather! :)

Patrick gave an excellent narration on our afternoon boat cruise. His knowledge of the Newport yachts was exceptional. The boat was clean and punctual. We appreciated his restaurant recommendation.

We had a beautiful sail on a gorgeous fall afternoon. The boat was comfortable and a very smooth ride. The captain was outstanding. Very fun day.

First of all, we had a Gorgeous warm sunny day in Newport. Our tour was aboard this beautiful, well maintained sailing vessel- run by Captain Alyssa and her crew. We mistakenly thought that we’d be seeing the many mega mansions of the area from the water.( most can NOT be seen from the water, they say) But we had plenty of sights to keep us interested. We couldn’t really hear the narrator( 36 folks on board- and talking) so we concentrated our questions to Capt.Alyssa- who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Again, smooth ride, beautiful scenery and GREAT MIMOSAS to boot! This was the last weekend of the season and it was a BEAUTY on the water!

We rented a polaris slingshot from here. The guy over the phone told us they only have 5 of them and they only accept reservations from 10-12 am for them. After 12pm you can just walk up and see if any are available. They charge you by the hour if you rent it for less than 3 hours. You should know that even if you go over one hour by 5 minutes they are going to charge you for a full 2 hours. The Polaris slingshot was fun! Goes over 70mph. You are required to wear helmets while driving it. The radio in it is bluetooth and can connect to your cellphone.
