- Beth UKansas City, KS11 contributionsAbsolutely stunning! A must do. We went two days in a row. First day we hiked to Mary Lake and Catherine Lake and was spectacular. Second day we did Donut Falls and hiked to the top of the rocks. Amazing experience. Can’t beat the beauty of nature here. Donut Falls is way more relaxing of a hike but still beautiful.Written October 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KathrinePennsylvania632 contributionsThe temple was covered in scaffolding but visitors could still see how magnificent this building is. We were told construction would last a few more years.
The grounds around the tabernacle and temple are gorgeous!! Such immaculate gardens and flowers. - Shari CMelbourne, FL48 contributionsI brought my son to hear the organ being played. It is beautiful. Not crowded when we went at noon on a cold Saturday in January.Written January 5, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TarHeelDurham, NC1,153 contributionsI was staying at the nearby Marriott and one of the clerks referenced that there was an outdoor mall nearby. I had time to kill so I went to explore. Actually, it's outdoor and indoor with some nice high-end stores like Tiffany and Nordstrom. I didn't buy anything (other than lunch at the food court) but I got my steps in and window shopped a little. Nice place to shop for those who can afford it.Written December 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - worktotravel14Trenton, NJ3,984 contributionsThis was one of the most welcoming capitol building that I've been to in the United States. It invites the community in and has a range of historic exhibits, arts, and exhibitions that share different parts of Utah. You can roam the halls and take in the glory of the architecture. The security welcomes you in for a visit. Go for at least a few hours your first time.
We loved the Utah movies, some of the exhibits about indigenous peoples within Utah, some focus on Mormonism, and the different areas that shared how the capital was built with all Utah-based materials and firms.
Great views inside and outside the Capitol. We were delighted to see that it was picture taking time for prom night and all the high school students in their best dress.

I’m a more experienced rider and went with my friend who had never ridden before. They did not give her horse a mask (to prevent it from eating on the trail) and they put her in the back as well. My friend often lagged behind and was nervous about going fast so she couldn’t catch up. Her horse was very stubborn about eating and it was hard for her to get the horse to stop and continue on the trail without the mask. I realize this sounds like a HUGE complaint but other than this the trail was amazing; the horses were very well behaved, and the views were stellar. I would definitely recommend this for beginners - but ask your guide for a horse mask ;)Written October 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - craig1086Atlanta, GA1,992 contributionsStopped here while driving west from the airport. The scenery is beautiful, and it is eerily quiet. Entry is $10. The staff was there, but didn't say much unless you asked a question. Visitor center also has a bathroom & brochures. You can definitely smell the salt in the air as soon as you get out of your vehicle. We visited in early November, so it was freezing cold. Also because of this, the water had receeded a lot, which meant there weren't as many flies buzzing around or bugs in the water. You can swim in the lake, but I wouldn't. Wasn't really much to do, but I was told you can do a boat tour on the lake.Written November 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jameson HendersonSalt Lake City, UT2 contributionsVisiting the Salt Lake Utah Temple was a truly uplifting experience. The stunning architecture and beautifully landscaped grounds create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for reflection. Make sure to take your time exploring the surrounding gardens, and don’t miss the visitor center for insightful information about the temple's history.Written October 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DiazideasLas Vegas, NV113 contributionsYes, this cathedral is a spectacular catholic worship space that welcomes all to experience the art, beauty, and love of God. I was traveling to Salt Lake City and found this beautiful place. I went specifically for confession as they have it every day and upon walking in there was adoration at the altar, which was extra special. The Cathedral combines a predominately Romanesque exterior with a Gothic interior with so many murals, sculptures, and reliefs that any art lover would be stopped in his or her tracks combing the entire interior. As much a museum as a pious worship space, this cathedral cannot be missed on your next trip to Salt Lake City.Written December 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Greg HFort Worth, TX279 contributionsThe Tracy Aviary should be added to the bucket list of anyone who appreciates birds. The variety on display, and ability to really see them, is fantastic. There is a Bird Show that is both charming and educational; highly recommended. It was certainly a delight for the children present. We also paid to feed the Lorikeets, which afforded up-close and personal time with the colorful little cuties.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The enclosures for the animals for the most part looked spacious and environmentally appropriate. I only struggled with one ... the polar bear exhibit. It was very hot the day we were there, and the poor bears were pacing around like they were very uncomfortable. The zoom itself was very clean, and I loved the organization of it. My grandson and I enjoyed it a lot.Written June 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KathrinePennsylvania632 contributionsIncredible building. Take a free tour offered. We saw the conference center auditorium which holds 21,000 people with its own organ. We were lucky to get to the roof for a view over temple square and the construction of the temple. Definitely worth a visit.Written October 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
