What a surprise it was to tour the grounds of the arboretum> Beautiful walking trails, friendly staff, prehistoric American Indian Effigy Mounds, wildlife and nature in 360 degrees- literally every direction.
A fairly large area that is native forest and prairie, next to more formal 4 to 5 acre garden and landscaped grassy park that displays numerous different types of well manicured trees.

Located in a quiet residential area, next to a great park, and it's free, which is amazing since it is a creatively designed, meticulously maintained facility.
Zoo is the perfect size to keep all ages entertained, afterwards the park or beach to picnic, swim, take a trail, have the kids play on the play ground equipment, play ball, ice skate in the winter on & on it goes...
