    Walk this.
Don't worry about catching a tour. Just go for a stroll and read the plaques. Such a wonderful stone structure.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens was beautiful in October. Many flowers were still in bloom and trees turning colors. Now we would like to return in the spring or summer for a whole different look.

This little zoo was darling! There were a wide variety of animals and cute little places to eat. The enclosures were clean and well kept. While they were a bit small, it was obvious that the animals were well cared for.

We were here for grduation and enjoyed the terrace very much. The view is fantastic and there was plenty of seating. We would return except our grandson graduated.

One of my favorite places to go on Saturday in Summer. Its one of the best Farmer's Market I've even been to AND in Madison area. Come early and come hungry. There's plenty of good food and plenty of space to sit and enjoy your food. Bring family. Buy some good quality vegetables. Check out my video reviews on YouTube Channel. Link in my profile.

Whoever designed this area sure was thinking ahead. A gorgeous, tree-lined walkway surrounds the capital and on Saturdays (spring to fall) the Farmer's Market is not to be missed!

A great place for a stoll. Many restaurants and interesting shops. Things get a little sketchy as you approach the campus, but in a fun wish-I-were-still-in-college sort of way.

This art museum has a lot of world class pieces. There is a wide array of art from local to national and international artists. They expanded the museum since we last visited many years ago. Not sure how they can do this but admission is free. The only hard part is finding parking.

Maps are not provided so plan ahead and print a map but they also have a QR scan at the desk to get a map.

We were here for our grandson's graduation. We sat in the sun but the expereince was good. Because of constructio, we had trouble moving around the stadium. However, we managed and everything worked out fine.

The visitor center was still closed during our visit but we just wandered on our own. This is the largest arboretum we've been too. Acres and acres of just trees! Then there's flowers, then miles and miles of hiking thru the woods. We were here for hours and didn't come close to seeing everything. Met a cool local guy who was out bird watching! Only saw a few animals but lots were turkeys! Trails here are paved, dirt, mud, grass, boardwalks, bridges..you name it, it's here! Super neat place, absolutely recommend. Tip-lots of runners and bikers on the road coming in so go slow and be alert.

We have come here frequently over the past few years, at least twice each year. Keeps my 11, 8, and 6 year olds busy for several hours. This last time they each brought a friend and all their friends loved it--they didn't want to leave after 5 hours there! Only thing that needs to change is the snack/lunch area. This was the 1st time we didn't pack a lunch and I wish we would have. The guy working it was so rude to everyone we saw walk up and order, including young children. This is not the place for him. The food isn't that great to begin with but on top of being rude, we just flops your plate down where it either is about to fall off or in one case, the mac & cheese fell off the plate and partially on the floor. Then he was disgusted that happened and acted like it was the customer's fault. Please replace him!

All the lakes in Madison are amazing but this has the sunset. I cannot think about Madison without spending some time next to Lake Mendota. Its sunsets are amazing.

We took a wonderful walk around the campus on a weekday morning. lots of the school buildings were closed, but it was still fun to walk around. The Discovery Building was open and we enjoyed the indoor garden there, plus history of Wisconsin discoveries displayed. We walked up Bascom Hill and a bit on State Street. Bought some Badger apparel at the University Book store (such a huge selection) and went around Camp Randall. Only wish Babcock Ice Cream or Memorial Union would have been open.

Beautiful displays, tons of cool artifacts, and so much historical memories of our veterans. Worth the time to go check it out
