The BAM is nostalgic in itself, but watching the 30th anniversary of the release of Spike Lee’s 1989 masterpiece, “Do the Right Thing in this iconic building on a hot summer day together with the locals from Brooklyn was an experience in itself. Great atmosphere thanks to the people and the building.

Family friendly, reasonably priced, unexpected, pleasantly surprising good time. The sideshow was more than anticipated and the humor was the cherry on top. I hesitate to say anymore for fear of ruining it, but I think this was totally worth the stop on a hot day to get off your feet.

We had not been here for several years, but we were drawn this time by a production of Fefu and her Friends by Maria Irene Fornés. It is a work whose logistical demands — the audience is divided into four groups that have to move four times — guarantee that many companies will hesitate to stage it. We’re glad we went. The play, with its surprising relationships between eight friends, is fascinating, and its end is startlingly but somehow appropriately surreal. The theatre itself has good sight lines and acoustics. If you’re already in the New York area, it’s well worth a trip to Brooklyn.

Amazing music venue in Brooklyn. Came here to see LCD Soundsystem and the sound quality and set up of the venue was top class. The door and bar staff were all very friendly too.

If you’re looking for that Tennessee, blues, country style music bar this is it. Lay back, relaxed, rustic, and just plain awesome.

Order your typical simple cocktails, beer, or mix, enjoy your conversation and listen to some excellent live music. The staff and people are friendly. The band went on at 9pm and for an hour, took a 15 minute break and played again. The lead singer was fire on the harmonica. A hidden gem for those who love live music, and the simpler kinda of night life.

We did not eat there, but the atmosphere and music gets a top review.

Thank you Bruce and the wonderful National Sawdust. Acoustics are amazing . Great night with my daughter enjoying music at its best. My only suggestion would be is to add a couple more rows of seats. Thank you again for a special night.

From the outside, this place looks terrible but once you get in, it is actually a nice venue to see a show. There are basically two levels. One level is the main room for the concert. Standing room only but there are places on the sides to lean against if needed and I needed it.

Downstairs are fairly clean bathrooms and a large bar area. A good place to hang out between acts with ample seating.

The sound was good and overall an enjoyable experience.

I attended a taping of NPR's Ask Me Another show at The Bell House and had a great time! The House is a good bar with reasonable prices and strong drinks! Any concert or other event will be sure to be a good time.

We went to a mid-week matinee performance of the play, Dot. I was a very moving production with great acting and excellent direction. On display in the lobby, the facility was adorned with a limited exhibition of paintings and multimedia creations in the vision of an African art tradition. We have visited this venue several times over the years and we will continue to patronize this cultural icon.

Four of us attended one of the last performances of the Comic Book Theater Festival, a charming one-act spoof of the gangster crime genre. Performances were amusingly on the mark. Consider bringing a hand fan, as the space can be rather hot and stuffy. Seat rows are mostly raked well (row 3 and back), but avoid the 2d row or you may have trouble seeing past/around the heads of the folks in the 1st row. Great fun, though, and only 20 min. from mid-town Manhattan on the L train. Amazing what can be done on a shoe-string budget.

Out of the many theaters we have been inside in NYC, this one so far is probably the nicest one we have visited. It just recently in 2019 underwent a renovation from what we were told, and it looks fabulous. It seats around 2000 people. The ceiling is amazing when looking up, a large stage. Acoustics were good too.

The biggest downfall which I saw was that they do not allow or serve any food or drinks what-so-ever. So be sure to eat something before you go. Seats were comfortable with decent legroom (more than a typical airplane has in economy class).

It is only 1 block away from Atlantic Terminal, so super easy access to both the subway and LIRR lines.

I'm going to the theatre!! I love performance arts.

I saw "The Tempest" a play by William Shakespeare as the power of one here. A small but intimate theatre easily located in Brooklyn that offers quality performance arts. The House Manager was informative to theater patrons prior to the production of exit locations, silencing cell phones and tech gadgets, concessions, facility locations, and the standard "no photography, videography, or recording of any kind is permitted." Gallery Players host various theater productions throughout the theater season. My major negative comment is their very weak air conditioning in conjunction with the poor ventilation as I came here on a hot humid July Sunday afternoon. I felt very warm and uncomfortable during the entire two hour performance production. The stage floor appears rather dirty as it was never mopped or wiped. Facilities are relatively clean and located on the second floor. This theater is not fully accessible as there is no elevator and no wheelchair ramp. The acoustics are decent.

I am enamored with their online production calendar as it gives a visual to make plans and schedule events revolving my life. The site forces patrons to create an account in order to return in the future as there is no option to purchase ticket without creating an account. The date before the production I received a helpful email reminder of the event with the date, time, location address and specific mass transit travel directions, suggested arrival time before the start of performance and no photography permitted. Most Broadway theaters do not provide reminder emails the day before the event, but Gallery Players do which is unique and distinguish from the standard. When purchasing tickets from their website I receive a "order confirmation" but not an actual e-ticket. I am always enamored with printed tickets or etickets as it serves a memory that I attended and seen a production performance to be included in my shoe box collection. The order confirmation is exactly a paid invoice another negative aspect, but not an actual theater ticket.

I've been here for my first party in NYC right after landing.
    Cool vibe and friendly people.
That Funktion One didn't convinced me too much... I have experienced great sound from those systems around but not on this one.
I still don't belive that the bar closed so early, even before the end of the party.

Highly recommend visiting one of their performances! The opera company stages 3-4 operas a year, and offers an inexpensive glimpse into the art
