I recently had an amazing solo trip to the city and got to experience the Empire State Building like never before. At the very top, Renita was there offering to take photos so people would have lasting memories of their vacations. She offered to take some of me because I was by myself. But the next thing that happened is what made this so special. There was a family of three generations and she was taking their photo with the Statue of Liberty in the background. She was explaining the significance about how we all came from somewhere and that having your family with you is so important because it’s where you came from. Touched my heart immensely. I came to the city to reconnect with my family and see my grandmother whose health is declining. It was a special moment. The most beautiful part of the city had nothing to do with the skyline. <3

Is there anything like it? From the water, or from the top of the Empire State Building, you see the majesty of the great city. I have never been in an environment like this. So many towers that seem to go forever.

We did not have enough time here. Next trip! The building itself is stunning. The exhibits in the first room as you walk in were amazing. They have the stuffed animals that Winnie the Pooh was created from, a copy of The Snowy Day with the most checkouts, the portrait used of Benjamin Franklin for the $100 bill, ETC We went up stairs to see the rotunda. Beautiful painting. You can not go in the Rose room. We went across the street to the satellite building. There is nothing there to see. It is a nice children's library, but no exhibits.

No visit to New York is complete without shopping at Macys this is quite an establishment and an “old school” department store which I tend to get lost in and have difficulties finding the things I am looking for…..

As a New Yorker, the Thanksgiving Day parade is an important family tradition. You take your kids, they invite out of town friends, they take their kids, etc. People come from all over the world to see the floats and balloons.enjoy the performances, and just be showered with joy. The staff that works on putting the parade together do an inspiring job as there are so many people to outfit. This is a wonderful place to be if you are in New York during the holiday season.

    So many food options.

Five Senses is always a good spot, K Town Pocha for some spicy Tteokbokki, spicy tuna and everything Kimbaps from the Food Gallery at the Gochujang kiosks are always yummy.

Her Name is Han is a decent spot, along with other popular spots, but expect to wait for a good half hour to an hour. Most places don’t have a lot of seating.

Ended up eating our breakfast here and had no idea where we were. I just happened to look up and saw the Macys sign. Tables, chairs, and serenity in the middle of Manhattan. I love NY!

We visited NYC and DC last year and we were fascinated. So we decided to return to NYC again.
We stayed in the same hotel on 44th west and 6 th avenue. At 2 minutes walk there is a supermarket and the Bryant Park.
In the park there are evefy day activities organised.
Movie in the park, free group yoga sessions, a jazz concert, a weekly bingo. Circus school for everyone ....
People gather in the park, use the free tables and chairs and bring their own food and eat and drink it with friends and familiy.

Most tourist guides recommend to buy a hop on hop off ticket for a day or half a day. But that is rather expensive.
I woul recommend to buy a 7 day metro card for 35 USD per person and use the public busses. And see NYC above metro level.
The busses are easy to use and you can go from N to S on one single line.
Or change whenever you see something interresting.

We visited China town and were looking for a terrace in the street.
    But there are no terraces.
Probably because of taxes. Every body is sitting on the ground or on window sills.

A trip we recommend is taking the bus to the free Staten Island ferry and enjoy the short ferry trip up and down.

Last year we dined in a German beergarten at 500 meter from our hotel. You can find it easy on google.
German schnitzels, fries an a big beer. Deliceous.
We avoided McDonalds and Shack and shake because of the fast food.

We rather walked to rhe China deli next to our hotel on 6th Av and chose from a warm buffet whatever looked good.
Price 25 USD per Kilo or 2 LBS..
But you only pay what you put in your box.
Same with the supermarket Whoolfood oppositeBryant park.

Tourisr guides speak obout tips for whatever.
We gave now and then tips (5USD for houekeeping per day.
The women were very happy with this and gave us a super service.
We give the 5 USD from the first day until the last day.

Last year I had a 1000 USD budget for 20 days USA and I came home with almost all the money.

We went to the Chelsea Flee Market but the prices are too high and the products are not so iterresting.

But I do recommend the High Line walk and a visit to Chvelsea Market food courts.

    Taxi at JFK.
Use only the yellow cabs. They have fixed prices.
We came out of JFK an were intercepted by a man who brought us to a big suburbqn. I asked for the price and he said it's by meter. But once we left there was ni meter and no taxi licence.
At arrival in Manhattan the driver charged ud 340 USD.
I said I would not pay andI I showed him 150 dillar.
This or you call the police I said.
    And finally
    he agrezd on 170.

The yellow cab would be 85 USD plus tip.
We would like to go back but we wait for the presidential elections before we decide.

Finally. The people are very friendly and if the see you are looking for something they will ask if you need assistance.

We walked down 34th Street towards the Moynihan Train Hall to go home. It was very quiet with a few taxis and crosstown buses. At 10pm on a Tuesday, it was abnormally quiet.

Come during the day for a true "Main Street" experience.

The architecture on this building is beautiful. Entrance is free of charge and you will find a lot of people here so it won't be as quiet as you expect. The Christmas tree was just amazing and the exhibitions were very interesting. You really could spend a couple of hours here.

Visited this wonderful building with my wife and were lucky enough to take part in a tour hosted by Bro Louis Cooper. He was so informative and passionate about both Freemasonry and the building.

The lodge rooms are jaw dropping. The scale and decor are beautiful.

Well worth a visit for Masons and non Masons alike.

I went yesterday night with my husband for a date night for his birthday. We had a wonderful time. I don't know how he does all of those tricks but we were amazed. I highly recommend this show! Also, just an FYI in case you arrive hungry, they have drinks and light bites.

This store is very large and has multiple stories. There is an escalator to bring you up and down, and the layout is kind of like a maze. It’s very hard to navigate and the signage doesn’t help much. The outside of the building is iconic, so hopefully H&M never goes out of business!

It was a great experience. The only issue was people taking there time on photos;so lines where long. There were no employees to keep the flow flowing. Not worth the 55 dollars but glad we got some cool pictures.
