If you are looking for a thorough, knowledgable instructor for all of your scuba certifications then look no further. Sandra provides the knowledge and training feedback in a positive manner, often times with video review, while also offering suggestions on how to improve one’s kit and become a better scuba diver overall. I particularly like the personalized small to private group training she offers!

I found this trip on when I was searching for a trip that I could go on solo with other people, which is relatively rare outside of your local dive shop. I found the booking site to be written clearly and personnel answered my questions quickly via email. I was stoked because it's pretty rare to find a group trip at a dive resort(sharing lodging greatly reduced the cost vs. going fully solo). Great experience on the booking end.

Devin, our trip leader kept everyone informed via email on trip information and updates. The team even sent a cool goodie bag prior to the trip with a T-shirt and several other things for the trip along with information on Buddy Dive Resort.

The trip itself was absolutely spectacular. I stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment with 3 other divers that were in the group. I chose this option (solo rooms were available for a higher cost) as I would rather save money and meet new people. The apartment was spacious, beautiful bathrooms, and cleaned immaculately daily. Breakfast was included with the trip and I looked forward to it everyday. I would describe it as a high end European style buffet. Just amazing. Blennies, the beach bar at the resort had plenty of theme nights, great food, and delicious drinks.

This trip included 3 boat trips (2 dives each), unlimited shore diving, nitrox, and rental trucks to explore the island and dive. Every dive we went on was an adventure. The Buddy Dive boat captains and divemasters were professional, but also really fun people to hang and dive with. The "House Reef" right off the resort was a gem and really convenient for early morning or night dives. The House Reef had plenty to see at night. About an hour after sunset, dozens of large tarpon can be seen in the area. Really cool. My favorite sites were the Hilma Hooker wreck and "Invisibles".

Devin, our trip leader was great. She was friendly, informative, and extremely knowledgable on diving. Devin kept us organized and informed on trip events, while also leaving us to our own devices if we felt like doing our own thing. Devin did a great job keeping accountability of everyone both on the boat and in the water. She also made everyone feel included in the trip activities and made sure everyone knew what we were doing, as almost all of us came there solo.

I would definitely recommend this trip in the future. I had a truly invaluable experience and made a lot friendships that will continue after the trip. I am also looking forward to booking similar trips with in the future. They are an awesome adventure and an incredible value especially if you are solo.

We won the Google Search jackpot by finding Zb and Tec Dive Nomad when looking for a scuba shop to dive with on our trip to Utila.

My husband and I each had a few dozen dives under our belts and a few certifications from different places throughout the US, but our instructors, dive masters, and experiences paled in comparison to our experiences with TDN.

From the very first email I sent Zb inquiring about working with him, he was a consummate professional responding in great detail to any questions we had either technical or logistical and provided a plethora of options for the layout of our days. Zb remained in touch with us on a regular basis and did all that he could from afar to make sure we were prepped for our trip.

Once we arrived on the island, Zb continued to be a great resource to us, explaining the best ways to navigate around the island, providing us with the names/numbers of very reliable (and English speaking) taxi drivers, and other details making our trip more enjoyable.

Zb and his crew were very familiar with the dive sites around the island and took us to many different sites for all different experiences. We really appreciated how thorough they were about gear checking, setup, etc. all while remaining light-hearted and fun.
Knowing that we were diving with someone who had such extensive experience and knowledge about diving and safety made everything more relaxing and enjoyable for me and the safety measures and devices in place on the boat helped solidify that.

My husband was able to confidently complete his Deep Diver certification with Zb and I completed a Refresher certification as well as Advanced Buoyancy both of which made me so much more comfortable in the water than I have ever been.

We are already mentally preparing our next trip to Utila specifically to dive with TDN again!
