The bay itself isn't much and the long causeway-bridge certainly doesn't rival those that enter the city proper. But if you're willing to drive 15-30 minutes, the hotels here are nice and about half the cost.

An important boulevard in Golden Gate Park, often closed to traffic, and that is the best time for the public to use it on bikes, on roller blades, or just for a stroll. The lovely park is on either side.

We took this drive. It is very scenic.

However, there are no antique stores in LaHood. No trace of gold mines or history as you drive through the area.

I believe to really see the gold country and typical tourist communities you need to go other towns in CA.

This is a major cross-town street taking you out to the Ocean along the south side of Golden Gate Park. Not much to see or do here, just traffic.
