The farmers market runs for four days a week outside of the main area of the ferry terminals. Otherwise there are occasional stalls .

This is a great resource for the neighborhood as the fruit and vegies are fresh and there is a good selection, including some odd choices. The merchants are friendly. Office workers come here as well. Too bad the surroundings are so bleak.

This open to the public flower market housed was more than I was expecting. We enjoyed an hour walking around and seeing the large variety of cut and potted flowers for purchase. I was a little disappointed that the cost for retail sale was more than at my local florist , but the variety greatly exceeded what the florist stocks. I understand everything costs more but was expecting a slightly better price. Definitely a place to go if you are looking for something specific both in flowers, vases/vessels, and ribbon - They even had black Calla lilies!

We were on our latest return visit to the wonderful City of San Francisco, early March, but as threats from the Virus emerged, and a "Travel Ban" loomed, we unfortunately had to abort our Trip within a few days, and - with considerable difficulty - flee home to Ireland.

We did manage to re-visit this normally impressive Arts & Crafts Street-Market on March 13th, but, sadly, found it to be a pale shadow of its brilliant self, for pretty understandable reasons.

There were very few Stalls : we especially noted that our old Friend, Ron M., who handcrafts Writing Instruments, had not ventured forth in these unsettled times - we hope he remains safe and well!

We did find one interesting Jewelry Stall, where the Owner, amongst other things, makes tasteful, dated Rings (mainly, Silver, we're told) from old American "Quarters" - the Silver content in a "Quarter" was reduced in 1964, but, apparently, this Craftsman uses the earlier Coins, and adjusts the date in doing so.

Taking this on trust (and bearing in mind I actually have a "Quarter Ring" with a pre-1964 date), I bought another very reasonably-priced one, now dated 2020 - a memento of a troubled year, which I reckon I'll be wearing for several months to come.

'Hopefully, we'll get to visit the SF Arts & Crafts Market again, in far more settled times!

It was a small cute market. Since we weren't planning on cooking a lot we just went for snacks and lunch. There was a lot of fruits and vegetables to pick from. We got Desee el de for lunch, a small food tent. I got the corn quesadillas with chicken and onion and my husband got the flour tortilla with beef. It was the bet quesadilla I've ever had. The corn tortilla tasted so fresh. I would definitely go back to get another if I were staying long enough.

This is the city's major artery, although traffic control policies make it confusing as to which vehicles can use it. I just walk and it is practical for connecting many neighborhoods. Part of the street has grand architecture, part is boring. And as you go west you pass through residential areas and end up on top of Twin Peaks where the views are supert.
