We found great results, but some are outside Kailua. Showing results in neighboring cities.

#1 of 9 Nature & Parks in Kailua
The waters are blue, sand very white and on weekdays pretty secluded, we were there many times during the week and it was amazing, there is a park right next to it where you can make BBQ or picnic
Kailua beach park, along with neighboring Lanikai, has some of the bluest, beautiful water that you've ever seen, and for me that's considering I've been to Bora Bora, Klein Bonaire, St. John, Maui, Kauai and Berm...

Lanikai beach is amazing, enter at public access near Lanikai park and Canoe Hale, parking is very limited so get there early and enjoy an amazing white sand beach with a picture perfect view of the Mokolua islands.
It is a small beach with perfect waters and sand and it has views across to the Moke little islands. It is very close to Kailua beach park and this beach is stunning too.

One option is to drop off the family right at the trailhead, which is also somewhat hidden, and then the driver parks the car.
Another possibility is to park on the Lanikai (Alala Point) side of Kailua Beach and take a 15-20 minute walk through Lanikai on to the trailhead by Bluestone.

As with all of Kailua beach, Kalama Beach park is gorgeous and worth a visit (or long stay).
There is a public beach access on the left(North) side right next to Kalama Beach Park.

You must park out side the Royal Hawaiian Golf Course across from the bus stop and walk past the crabby entry guard then up the golf course road 1/2 mile to the sign on the left for the trail head.
You have to park about 1/2 mile from the entrance, but it is worth the hike.

Incredible, it's like walking in Jurassic Park!
I grew up in nature, and I slipped a few times and hurt myself a little, because I stupidly left my hiking shoes at home in California.
Bellows Field Beach Park Waimanalo 5.9 km away

Great beaches, fun mini golf, fun park equipment for children.
Wonderful beach park

Excellent Nature walk, run, or bicycle cruise.
No parking-have to park in Kailua town and walk along highway to get to entrance.
Nuuanu Pali Lookout Oahu, HI 6.4 km away
#28 of 215 Nature & Parks in Oahu
You park, take a short walk up to the lookout, and are suddenly in a very windy world that feeld wild and haunted and ethereal.
Learning the history of the area through the wonderful signage really helps to explain the view and the park.

This is a beautiful park behind the YMCA with historic ruins that are being unearthed all the time.
