- nhlisa1Redmond, OR1 contributionOur tour guide was great. We got to learn about the agriculture that shaped Hawaii. There was lots to see and a great gift shop.Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- HrothmirSmyrna, GA202 contributionsThe view of the "needle" in the park is impressive. The walk to it is paved and short. The botanical gardens at the site seemed in a poor state when we were there (Feb.). Going to the needle and seeing the botanical garden took about 30 minutes.
One needs a timed ticket to go Iao Valley State Monument now. We purchased a timed ticket for entrance and also for parking. I believe the parking was $10. When we got there, we realized many smart people were parking on the road just outside the park entrance (no charge) and walking in (short distance). I wish we had known to do that.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is now used as a performing arts center and is quite nice. It has a great history that includes Bob Hope doing USO shows there in WW2.Written March 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - irawineBenicia, CA655 contributionsMy wife and I took a pleasant walk through this small park. It contained a fair amount of Hawaiian history and it was interesting to read about the early Chinese and Japanese settlers. Stop by if you have a few minutes.Written April 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Stix4848Birmingham, AL226 contributionsNot being a local, but having been to my fair share of street festivals, when our friends who live in Maui asked us to attend First Friday, we were game. I’m glad we took them up on the offer as we had a good time. I know where I’m from we tend to have bigger street fairs, but this is a small town on an island so expect a much smaller venue. There were plenty of food vendors to pick from and while we are both meat eaters, one of our friends is not and there were plenty of vegan options. My fiancé visited “The Corn Project” booth where there were dressing ears of corn in all sorts of “toppings,” he got the Mexican option and it was amazing. There are two sections here for bands to setup. One section I was told is geared towards more local music, when I say local I mean Hawaiian. This ended up being our favorite area as there were multiple hula groups who were performing around the stage. The stage towards the back of the festival had a more mainstream pop cover band, which was also very good. In the area of the second band one will find multiple food trucks, everything from Thai, Mexican to bbq, there were plenty of food options to pick from. There are also a lot of local artisans selling their items. I bought a pineapple lime hot sauce from Hana Farms. Since I’ve been home I’ve put this sauce on tons of stuff. It goes really well on a burger, with a pineapple on a sweet Hawaiian bun. Definitely can’t wait till we’re back on the island next year to visit this little street fair.Written September 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MsVicFrisco, TX615 contributionsWhat a very special place that is very Hawaiian. The church was very minimal and the grounds were beautiful. The little cemetery had a gravesite devoted to a unknown Hawaiian which had been found —- such a nice area to go view and reflect.Written February 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rhwall5122 contributionsDoing a trail ride at Circle M Ranch is an amazing way to spend the morning! I had riden a horse before, but only a couple times. The wranglers gave such an informative lesson before I got on my horse, Tex, that I felt at ease as we got on our way. What a unique way to see a part of Maui I had never seen before. It was breaktaking and relaxing at the same time. Highly recommend!Written March 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mansfield TudorJuneau, AK119 contributionsSandre never putt golfed before this so I t was a natural choice for us to go to Golf Sport Park at Malaia because I love to and we enjoyed it but some of the holes were little and my ba.ll wouldn't fit in it because of some of the flagstaffs are leaning near the hole edges. (see picture) . Also sometimes our ball would go in the water trough and when I put my hands in it it stinks like dirty chlorine water (Sandre is sensitive to chlorine) but its problely hard to clean the water trough and the balls and the sticks get clean so that is why. Lots of fish and a volcano and a bridge, very quaint! Good chips and snacks and mens bathroom. Clean and green!Written April 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- William YRenton, WA30 contributionsWe did two tours to Mokolini and Turtle Town. Each tour is assigned a location at Mokolini so pick wisely. The first tour, Maui Snorkeling , was on the right side of Mokolini and the second tour, Pride of Maui, our favorite on the left side. The left side is a bit shallower but better clarity than the right side. There seem to be more fishes and nicer corals etc. It is not advisable to swim across Mokolini too far and limited amount of time.
Why PoM that good?
They pay attention to the little details like a hot shower risen off (it's so nice when you come up cold), the crew, Savanah, come by ask you what you want to drink, they work attentively to clean the catamaran, they serve complimentary Mai Tai at the end, they cook the burger on the catamaran, they attend to the guests very well and for safety has a crew member, Noa, on the board watching after us! Even though we did not get to Turtle Town due to wind, we went to Coral Garden instead. The Coral Garden site PoM took us was amazing. We definitely will go with Pride again

- GreeneyedteacherBrookfield, WI160 contributionsThe ranch is in a very secluded area and the workers did a great job leading us from a starting point to it. I was also impressed at how much effort went into matching the rider to the horse.
Our guides, Richard and Selena, worked hard to ensure our safety and comfort. We were taken to some great viewpoints for waterfalls and the beach although from a distance.
I would recommend the ride!Written January 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Captain even took extra time showing us some whales and dolphins! Made us an amazing barbecue lunch ! This was our 4th time going on this trip can’t wait to go again !! Thank you for everything!
