Another above and beyond expedition during our recent trip to Maui. Valley Isle Excursions, in our honest opinion, is the best way to see this majestic view of mother nature. From the moment we booked online, to the communication right up until 30 minutes before our pick up right at our condo rental, to the drive to Haleakala, it was seamless. Our tour guides Billy and Abe were absolutely amazing, friendly, informative with a great sense of humor.
The lined ponchos were a much needed added bonus and definitely appreciated as the temperatures and winds were quite frigid (and we are from Canada!). Be prepared even with the ponchos - dress in layers.
The breakfast at the Plantation was delish and a great stop before we were returned back to our condo late morning to enjoy the rest of our day in paradise.
We wish Billy a well deserved retirement and all the very best to Abe.

We had a great time! I’m SO glad we decided to go with a company and not drive it ourselves. I can’t imagine navigating all of the turns and one lane bridges. I liked all of our stops and appreciated the amount of time at each of them. We swam at the black beach and in the waterfalls! Charleston was an awesome driver and guide! He kept it fun, friendly, and educational. We had a really nice time!!

Because of the way our overall trip itinerary worked out, we were only able to go to Haleakala on a Wednesday, which excluded sunrise and sunset tours since those weren't available (on any operator) on Wednesdays. Luckily, the Best of Maui tour was on a Wednesday so we were still able to see the mountain. I think the overall tour was ok, with Haleakala being the highlight - it truly is a sight to behold. The dining options in Makawao were ok, but the town was cute and I wouldn't have minded having more time to explore. Iao Valley State Park was nice but also a relatively short stop. All in all, it was a lot of time in a van. Next time, I may have done Haleakala on its own in our own vehicle. That being said, our guide Alfredo was knowledgeable and friendly and gave us the BEST advice I've ever gotten on how to prevent motion sickness on a mountain climb which definitely did the trick!

Damian was extraordinary. He took us to many exceptional spots in Maui and was willing to customize the tour. His knowledge of the area was hugely beneficial. He provided some first aid from my wife, who had a slight fall. Most importantly, he is a a hell of a nice guy who went above and beyond what one would reasonably expect. We couldn’t recommend him more highly.

We used C Big Island tours for Maui (Tropics of Maui & Rainforest Valley), Hilo (Volcanoes National Park), and Kona. Each tour had a local person as the guide; each was knowledgeable, sharing fun tidbits of information, telling jokes, and providing great spots for pictures! Great places to eat. The Iao Needle was interesting to see and our tour ended with a double rainbow overhead. Our Kona tour was cancelled since the ship could not tether in the port due to rough waters; so sorry we missed the tour but our money was promptly refunded. Highly recommend C Big Island to anyone visiting the islands!!!

We saw lots of publicity for the ‘Road to Hana’ so decided to drive it ourselves.
It’s a lengthy drive on a bendy small road and not very inspiring. The end stop doesn’t have much to do and along the route there is little of interest.
On one bend is a very small waterfall where one can take pictures.
Overall we felt the time would be far better spent at other locations without driving for hours. Tour companies pad the (Long) day with park visits but the road itself isn’t very picturesque.

We paid 2000 for our trip hoping to enjoy our travel and visit all the locations in the itinerary. First of all, they messed up our booking. The reservation was for the west Maui tour and it was confirmed days in advance. After we were picked up is when we found out we were about to go to Hana! The agenda had to be redone. I had to show May the driver the itineraries for the locations. She made up for it with her service but our time was significantly cut short. We didn’t realize the 8 hour duration for the guided tour does NOT include the traveling time to each destination. For example we didn’t stop at Lahaina at all which was supposed to be a 2 hour stop. We skipped altogether Kepaniwai park and heritage gardens and Makaluapuna point. We stopped at each destination for 15-20 min but it took some time for us to get from A to B which was added to the total trip time; hence our trip was cut way too short. The company is run by a taxi service (royal taxi) and not a tour agency. Our last stop was at Maui tropical plantation which is supposed to be 1 hour tour but we had to leave in 20 minutes because we were told our time for the day is up when we didn’t get to see anything there!

The driver May was awesome but the service from the company is horrible.
