This was our third trip to the trail. Its a great meeting point to bike with our son in Minneapolis and my wife and I coming from the Chicago area. I see some have complained about the trail conditions but for a crushed stone trail its ok. The views are great if you try. We saw Bald eagles on two of the occasions, Baltimore Orioles and many beautiful water scenes and wild flowers. The local bike store (coulee bike) was great where we bought our trail passes

Our host was so nice and provided great customer service. The wine was delicious. They have outdoor seating which was nice! The weather was great and the wine was yummylicous! Don’t forget to buy pretzels. The Italian flavor was good. Great place to hang and drink some wine or beer.

We took in this Official Roadside America attraction while we were staying in the Onalaska area. Sunny is one of a number of large fish available throughout the Midwest for photo ops. Sunny is located in a beautiful wayside with spectacular views of the Mississippi. You can park near the fish. Informational signs about the fish are on site. You can sit on the available benches to take in the views. There is a picnic table in a covered gazabo. It is free to visit Sunny.

I am always drawn to higher places, and get excited when I find another one, especially with views of Mississippi. The park consists of tow parts, intermixed. Oe is owned by City of Onalaska, and another one is a parcel of Mississippi Valley Conservancy holdings. They blend in, and there is no signage distinguishing between the two. One parking lot is off the Stonebridge Ave.(and was inaccessible and under constructions when I visited). Another one is at the end of Clifford Dr. - and that one only allows parking between May and October, for some reason. I was there in April and was out of luck - but parked on the narrow street successfully, avoiding tickets or other problems. Oddly, the closed parking at Stonebridge directs you to park at Clifford (closed for a season)- apparently some people need to take their heads out from you know where. But that was minor annoyance. The place is beautiful. You climb a steep trail, and then up on the hill there are variety of trail going in different directions, and several observation points. Awesome experience and beautiful views - and unlike at La Crosse Bluffs system the place was not crowded at all.

My husband and I visited on a Friday evening while traveling in the area. Skeleton Crew Brew/Lost Island Winery was a a great spot to unwind after a day of traveling while enjoying flights of delicious drinks and a relaxing environment.

What a FUN place to visit. There are so many things to see and you can buy just about everything here: purses, jams, home decor.... The list is endless. The employees were super-friendly and helpful. I am disappointed that I had not visited sooner. Picked up something small this time, but plan to return for more "major" shopping. Add this to your list of places to stop!

I stopped to play a solo round of disc golf. I've played the disc golf course before, but this time noticed how nice the park is overall: playground areas for kids, picnic tables, restrooms, skate park, tennis courts, shelters, BBQ pits throughout the park, etc. They have permanent Horseshoe pits, Ladder Toss and Bags (Cornhole) equipment. The 11-hole Disc Golf course is fun and pretty easy with no water hazards, but some challenging trees in front of the baskets. The course is very well marked with signs, tee pads, benches, etc.

Pierce Park isn't an obvious "go-to" when you are in Onalaska. However, if your children need a safe place to run and play, consider this option. There are playgrounds, a trail, and basketball court. However, there is not currently a shelter (contrary to the statement on the website). Not a large park, but definitely a safe place for kids to play if they need an outlet while you're in the area. Just FYI - there is a Little Free Library there, as well, if you have someone looking for something to read while they're in the area.

This park is tucked away off the beaten path, but it's a nice little place to stop if you need a rest. There are two swings, two slides, and a small basketball court. You can eat at the one picnic table if you are needing a meal break, as well. The park is well maintained - just easy to miss. There's rarely anyone there, so stop by if you're looking for a small area to take a break!
