This is a must do stop in Waco. We happened to arrive as a tour was starting and jumped in. But it appeared that others joined in as we walked. So if you arrive late, jump in!

The tour was about 30 minutes. The ranger gave some important information, but a little too much humor for us. We moved on when we had heard enough, which was also easy to do.

The museum has quite a few artifacts and presents the life of a ranger very well. The beginnings of the Texas Rangers was particularly interesting to me. The movie was also good, but a bit long. We were told they are getting a new (and shorter) movie soon.

Most of the museum was memorials for fallen rangers. I was impressed by this devotion to the memory of those that served.

The orangutans are amazing as are the rhinos, giraffes, otters, tigers and so many more. The exhibits are all well kept, the conservation is excellent and there is lots of shade and places to sit. The penguins are coming in August which will bring many thousands of visitors who will enjoy everything about this truly wonderful zoo.

This was a fun stop on our Spring Break! Ticket prices are reasonable at $10 per ticket and includes 3 floors in one museum and 1 area in the soda fountain. With your ticket, you also get one free small beverage from the soda fountain. The museum is filled with information about the company, how it started, important figures/people, and tons of old bottles and advertising signs. It was neat to hear the history behind a popular beverage and how it became a world wide drink. This is near Magnolia Silos, so you can do both stops in one day (and only pay for parking once!). You also have the opportunity to make your own soda and do a soda taste test blindfolded. Both of these experiences cost extra ($10 per experience) and must be booked ahead of time on the website. The soda from the soda fountain tastes completely different from what you buy in the store as well, which makes it a new experience just for that alone.

Beautiful vineyard, really cool tasting room and patio. Very helpful, friendly and informative staff. The wines were lovely and the setting was so picturesque. We will definitely be back!

This was our one last stop as we left Waco and carried on down the road. The sculptures of the cattle and cowboys and drovers are worth the stop alone, pretty amazing in all the detail. Walking out across the bridge gives you a great view of the river and the walkways and riverbank. Not a long stop, but definitely worthwhile.

We drove around this park but didn't get to walk on any trails. It's a beautiful park and we wish we had had more time to spend there. We did climb Jacob's Ladder! It was tough but we made it. Both in our 60's! Make sure to go here if you love the outdoors.

We went on a tour with Sherry, which lasted around 1-1/2 hours. This is a beautiful library housing a collection of antiques, personal belongs, furniture, letters, and art work belonging to Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning. The history is interesting and informative. You could probably visit the library on your own, but, if possible, schedule a docent led tour to get the most out of your visit. Located on the Baylor campus. There is free street parking around the building.

This D1 college football stadium is super beautiful. Overlooking the Brazos River, it is truly a great place to watch a game as the seats throughout the stadium are situated so that you can easily see all the action from anywhere. The people are great! Super fun to be around, and the energy here is electric. Food isn’t too good, but that’s the same for all college football stadiums. You’ll want to sneak your own food in!

This is a great place for young and older people alike. If you are not thrilled about young kids running around, you may want to skip this, but if you don't mind, it's worth the trip. There is a humpback whale skull that's enormous, a bunch of dinosaur and Cretaceous era fossils, and walk-in dioramas where you feel like you're walking back in time, into the forest, for example, there's also a replica of the Waco Mammoth National Monument. Plan to spend a couple of hours here.

We spent the week touring Texas college campuses with our son. Baylor truly rolled out the red carpet for their prospective students and it was the best tour in TX!

The Branding the Brazos Sculpture is life-sized and beautiful. It takes up a lot of room at the beginning or end (depending on where you start) of the pedestrian Suspension bridge in Waco. It is only a short excursion, but well worth seeing.
