Having previously seen some of its Asian pieces, the Kimbell has been on my list for years. The venue makes everything easy. Underground parking is free; you can get upstairs via stairs or elevator; its two buildings (just a short walk in between) are easily accessible; admission is free; it provides free folding chairs that visitors can carry between rooms (not all have public seating).

I loved the collection. There isn’t a 2nd tier piece on display. Example: it has a Donatello! The labels are equally great. Although I consider myself knowledgeable regarding Himalayan art, I learned something new with the 1st label, which was fantastic.

The on-site cafe is large and the food tasty. No reservations are required and the food is moderately priced. Some seating looks towards an enclosed courtyard featuring art.

It was a great visit and one I’d recommend.

With the Kimbell Museum and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, it forms the third leg of the powerhouse art heart of Texas. It also has a fantastic restaurant.

Wonderful free museum. Can do in an hour. We went yesterday (Saturday)
and were engaged by Ronnie Horton, a docent who was very knowledgeable and so enthusiastic. We hadn't been in 9 months and didn't realize they changed the exhibits. What a gem to have in fort worth. We check it out whenever we come to fort worth. We found it because they sponsor Ballet Frontier and we were at Nutcracker production and saw their name in the program of sponsors. Check it out, very worthwhile.

I visited the Cowgirl Museum a dozen years ago and found it interesting that girls who grew up on ranches often became excellent riders and shooters. We all know of Annie Oakley, but many never gained her fame but were very competent. Yes, the Cowgirl Museum is definitely worth a visit.

There are so many great options for museums and entertainment within a very small area. The Fort Worth Botanical Gardens is just to the south of the Will Rogers Coliseum, The Amon Carter Museum, Natural Science Museum (great for kids), Kimball Art Museum and Modern Art Museum are all within a couple of blocks of each other. It's a great place to spent some time.
