This was a fantastic place to shop. Room upon room of great treasures, finds and collectibles. And while there is a lot, and I mean a lot of goods, it was still arranged nicely enough that things could be seen, but not so neat that you feel like you are in a china shop. Good items, good prices, nice dogs, and a friendly owner.

Perfect experience! Shop is packed with items for gifts, great selection of clothing, seasonal items, and surprises. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Kitty staff members are sweet and interested in helping as well. The best part is that your purchases and donations are helping animals in need.

What a wonderful shop. If you have a few minutes in Landrum just to explore, if in need of a special gift, or just a yummy chocolate truffle, this is the spot. This trip led me to some kitchen items that will make perfect gifts.

Very friendly staff and easily an entertaining 15-min of looking at vintage signs, toys from yesteryear, antique furniture, old hardware and did I mention the chocolate?

One thing I appreciate is the lack of pressure to "git it and git out". Folks are welcome to browse, spend a fortune or just come back later and look again.

Vendor booths located inside the Savvy Scavenger. Some were neat & clean while others not so much. Still worth a quick stop because you never know what might be waiting for you. Fairly busy with customers & vendors.

We were on a road trip and stopped in this quaint town toward the end of the afternoon so unfortunately we did not have as much time as we would have liked here. There was a lot that caught our interest but unfortunately some booths/areas were so cramped you could not get close enough to the merchandise to inspect it. We did not have time to get to the furniture/decor side which looked interesting so we will make a return stop when in the area again.

I had originally planned on heading out further to one of the state parks. But I got a later start than I intended. And I battled rains so when I seen the sign for this place and decided to stop in here instead.

This place covers 1886 acres and is cared for by the SC Department of Natural Resources. There is a 6 mile round trip trail that starts out on the south side of Squirrel Mountain and brings you back down the north side of Pacolet River.

I pull into the empty parking lot. I just see the trail to the left, which I believe is the atv trail. At this point it was pouring and I wasn't sure how long I would be hiking. But I know rain makes for some beautiful pictures.

The trail is well marked and quite wide. It is also quite muddy. I think the other trail is a moderate/difficult hike while this one is fairly easy. I pass by a new growth forest. I see signs that fall is upon us. There are butterflies and dragonflies. Wildflowers are everywhere as are fungi. Even in the rain this is a beautiful hike. I see a bridge down a separate path and decided to follow that. I take some pictures of the bridge and then take the path just before the bridge to the right. It runs along a stream. And there are several foot bridges here. When I get to one foot bridge I decided to head back. The bugs were getting to much despite my off. And since it had been raining. It was getting dusky. I was wet and muddy and hungry. As I get back to the parking lot. I discovered the other trail. Ill save that for another time.

I hiked about 1 1/2 miles. The parking is free. And there is no fee to enter. This is a hidden gem that I hope more people will discover. It is located on Highway 11 which leads to several other state parks and historic sites. There are no bathrooms here. So make sure you stop in Landrum or the other small towns along the way for bathrooms and snacks.
