The view is awesome and the bridge at night is stunning!! Can be really windy crossing that length, 5 miles is amazing.
If you are willing to pay the fare(s), a trip to the Bridge View Park on the Upper Peninsula side of the bridge is a great way to learn more of the history of the bridge and the view is incredible!!

I've visited here numerous times over the years and believe this is one of the BEST views in all of the U.P.! There is a short hike up to a platform to enjoy a fantastic view of the dunes to the east.
Beautiful view of the Sable Dunes and Lake Superior from the unofficial hiking trail to the right as you round the top of the dune.

A wonderful way to explore the island and enjoy the fantastic views is to ride bikes (lots of uphill action, FYI) up to the top, and stop at Fort Holmes with a picnic lunch to recover.
The walk(or bike ride) is steep, but the history of the fort and the panoramic view will make the trek completely worth your efforts!

an easy one mile walk through the woods opens on a rustic lighthouse museum with tales of Lake Superiors treacherous weather and shipwrecks to prove it great views great stories by the curators.

Really worth it to stop at the Visitor's Center next to the Lighthouse and pay the fee to view their museum and tour the lighthouse.

Apart from the views of Lake Superior and the photo opportunities, the lighthouse and lighthouse residence are worth the visit.
The best place to take photos are either on site if you can find some shoreline, on the highway towards copper harbor along the side, or in the life saving station parking lot across the harbor.
