The reason I'm writing this review is to highlight the kindness and hands-on nature of the owners - after my five year old and I very ill-advisedly went on the Woodland Walk after a particularly rainy day, the own...
A lovely mini-day out, and there is a geocache near the car park for those of you who are interested :)
Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary
#3 of 7 Nature & Parks in Liskeard
This wildlife park houses an interesting mix of animals and birds which have been rescued from zoos laboratories or pet rescues.
The fact that some animals could be fed, (deer and birds such as peacocks and ducks walking around the park), was a nice feature.

Great place to have a picnic during heavy rain sat in the car as long as the car park is quiet with a view of the lake from the windscreen.
Nice cafe by the car park and various watersport activities available for the more adventurous.

There is a nice little cafe on sight which serves food and drinks, and a beautiful little nature path to explore with many structures created for natural wildlife.
The park is great fun for the kids but we had so much more fun inside the amazing tent using natural objects to play games and explore.

It is a walk from whichever car park you use, but millpond is cheaper and easier to park in than the town car park by the bridge.
We managed perfectly well bringing all our bags & lunches for the day through the town from one of the car parks.

The gardens are also superb and well worth a visit - in spring you can see gorgeous rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias and fantastic views of the park & house.
Near to the car park is a wood with interesting dog walks, cycle tracks & an adventure cycle zone which was very popular with children. the parkland is wonderful with superb views & superbly maintained.

We parked here and walked in to Looe and back I would say pick a nice day for a walk and take a camera There’s a brilliant little cafe in the car park
If you feel the coastal path from Looe to Polperro (or reverse) is too much there is a shorter alternative.... Park in Looe.
