- Robert DBrooklyn, New York5,375 contributionsI visited the Ye Matthew Legacy, a replica of the ship John Cabot used when he discovered Newfoundland in 1497. The replica was built in 1997 for the 500th anniversary of his voyage. There is a small museum which tells Cabot's story. Then you go to see the ship. A guide explains some details of the vessel and then you can explore the ship.Written October 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tasos A4 contributionsOur whale-watching tour was nothing short of incredible. The captain took us to prime locations where we were fortunate enough to witness a majestic humpback whale and a pod of seven sperm whales up close. - Karen C1 contributionWe had so many different whale sightings! I have been on whale-watching trips before and did not see as many as I did on this tour. Having a mom and baby come close enough to the boat for us to see eye-to-eye was incredible. The captain and crew did a great job giving us sufficient time to enjoy each different whale before heading out in search of a new one!
I can’t say enough about the professionalism of the boat crew and what a great job they did making sure our trip was as enjoyable as possible! The entire crew was very attentive and caring, and we were greatly impressed with their warmth and friendly attitude. Not only did they have extensive knowledge of the whales, but they also patiently answered all our questions about the history of the area, local fish and fishing practices, birds, and lots of interesting facts which they shared with us throughout the trip!Written August 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
