- traveler1393Bonavista, Canada16 contributionsA walking trail along a magnificent shoreline. For an average walker, the trail can be walked in 45 minutes one way or one and a half hours return trip, beginning at the parking area and ending at the John Cabot statue. However, this trail can be accessed at many points along the way, allowing the hiker to plan a custom walk to suit a certain length of time and/or choice of scenery. One important tip: pick a day when there isn't much wind. The winds can be very severe and cold at times in this area, and hiking the trail on such a day would not be a pleasant experience. The shoreline here is quite rugged with much to see including various sea birds, whales in summer, small islands offshore, and some boats of various sizes.Written August 6, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tasos A4 contributionsOur whale-watching tour was nothing short of incredible. The captain took us to prime locations where we were fortunate enough to witness a majestic humpback whale and a pod of seven sperm whales up close. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an intimate and exhilarating whale-watching adventure!Written August 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steve J4 contributionsJason and Lori are incredible. The weather was not cooperating for us, we had to cancel our fishing trip yesterday morning. Later in the afternoon Lori called and said the wind and waves had improved and we could go out if we wanted to. Within thirty minutes we were on the boat. Just outside the harbor we saw a cow and calf humpback breaching. Jason started trying his favorite fishing spots. After five or six spots we finally found fish. Within twenty minutes we had our limit. They filleted our fish and put them in the freezer for us to pick up when we leave Bonavista. They are brother and sister team that will do anything for you. I can not say enough about how they treat their customers.Written August 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen C1 contributionWe had so many different whale sightings! I have been on whale-watching trips before and did not see as many as I did on this tour. Having a mom and baby come close enough to the boat for us to see eye-to-eye was incredible. The captain and crew did a great job giving us sufficient time to enjoy each different whale before heading out in search of a new one!
I can’t say enough about the professionalism of the boat crew and what a great job they did making sure our trip was as enjoyable as possible! The entire crew was very attentive and caring, and we were greatly impressed with their warmth and friendly attitude. Not only did they have extensive knowledge of the whales, but they also patiently answered all our questions about the history of the area, local fish and fishing practices, birds, and lots of interesting facts which they shared with us throughout the trip!Written August 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
