The tour of this lighthouse was really interesting- well worth the time and money. It was led by 2 students - both great guides - 1 who was quite passionate.

The dungeon is amazing! The park offers beautiful views of the rugged coastline. If you are lucky, on a good weather day you will witness the most beautiful sunset and sunrise! There are horses in the pastures nearby. Great spot for pictures!
    Overnight dry camping for free.

Stumbled upon this museum and glad we did. Only $4.25 to get in and there are four buildings with interesting artifacts from the fishing and sealing operations. Lots of information about what life was like for people during those times. Took about an hour to visit.

What a stunning place! I was part of a performing choir. Everyone working there made our experience a real pleasure. They have a stocked bar, a conference room, and the actual theatre is charming.

The building offers a brief self-guided tour that tells the story of the Matthew from the perspective of a fictionalized teen, describing what his life would have been like aboard the ship. This vessel is a recreation of the one sailed from Bristol, UK to Bonavista for the centennial.
The exhibits were very good. Following this, visitors are currently invited into the boathouse to step onto the Matthew and walk along the exposed decks. Unfortunately, it has fallen into disrepair and is dry docked in the boathouse where its exterior can’t be seen since there is no viewing platform around it.
Hopefully funds can be secured to fund its refurbishment so it can be lowered into the sea and enjoyed on the waters in future.
Still interesting to walk the ship indoors and worth the visit.

We walked as far as the restaurant and the Fish Flakes. This was an out and back hike on well maintained trails.

Small museum. Helpful curator. Nice display of items from bygone years, except I remember having many of them in my house when I was growing up. Am I that old?

We did this drive on the way to and from our stay in Bonavista. I would do this drive instead of the Irish loop as the scenery is much better. Be sure to stop in Trinity, Elliston, Cape Bonavista and Spillars Cove

Nice place to walk after dinner or getting ice-cream. Nothing to see in the water. Thought there may be fish or frogs but seems quiet. Would great to have a fountain in it.

Beautiful little shop where you can see them making the products. You can see, smell and try all the products before you purchase. I bought bath bombs and bath salts, and used a bath bomb when I returned home. It was the best homemade bath bomb I have ever purchased - great smell, light use of oil and not over the top of fizzy. Looking forward to trying the bath salts!

What an amazing experience! It was the highlight of our trip. Our Captain was very knowledgeable and extremely experienced out on the water. We managed to see a whale, puffins a bald eagle and many other species. The view of all the vistas from the water were breath taking. We were provided with warm floatation suits and gloves which made the 2,5 hours in the water very warm and comfortable. We would highly recommend this excursion !

I was not in a buying mood when I visited but was nevertheless appreciative of the quality of items on sale. It is not a particularly large floor space. Some items like T-shirts are back in the staff only area. Suffice to say many items had a more Bonavista and/or maritime look. The building itself was part of the original working Ryan Premises.
