- marqbymarq6 contributionsAmazing beach! It’s a must see in Milos. September gets a lot windier so go early in September. The waters are extraordinaryWritten September 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- MikeDowling2 contributionsGo out of the main tourist season and see it at its best. We went on an early November afternoon in brilliant sunshine. Yes, the water is a bit cool then but to be on this beach with no one else was magical.Written February 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - maurice rome50 contributionsI update information from a previous review to get Plathiena from Plaka by foot.
To go down from Plaka (turn left after PALAIOS pastry and before the road going up to the castle) is very easy and not tough at all; first follow a path with stones (many plants on the way but around 15 minutes), then a normal road and I took half an hour. To come back (I took instead 45' minutes) the first part it's okay while the second is a bit harder but you can do that. I did at around 14.00/15.00 p.m. and I mean don't forget to bring with you water.
Great landascape with red stones and the blue spot of Plathiena in the distance.Written July 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tip1: wear secured sandals or go barefoot.
Tip 2: just around the side of the main beach is a much smaller area that was completely shaded in the morning.
Tip 3: bring water!!! There is nowhere near by to get anyWritten July 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Drive down in the car isn’t too tricky, just with some steep sections. Definitely worth the effort!Written September 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ghostist4 contributionsThe beach itself is beautiful and spacious. The sea is great too...
However it is remote and there are only two places to eat...
Artemis hotel also on this beach - but if you ask me overpriced and not worth the hype.
There are a couple of other accomodations available up the hill - one of which is Avgerinou Studios - which is a hike up the beach (which is not lit in the evening) and completely inaccessible for elderly 7 handicapped etc... people without a car.
Also if you stay at Paliochori - there are no supermarkets or anything around, which is another thing to bear in mind.Written September 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We also watched the documentary movie with real miners and their stories about tough work in the mines. For people who are interested in history and geology, it is a nice experience.Written September 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Max1979Tallinn, Estonia1,542 contributionsA place worth visiting, but definitely in the early morning, because in the morning of May at 10 it was already about 30 degrees warm between the mountains. Be sure to bring water. if you go with a regular car, I recommend leaving the car for about 1.5 km and walking on it, because in youtube videos where you can see that you are driving to the mountain of white mines, I don't recommend going there with a regular car, the road is very broken and the rocks are out you can destroy the car. only 4 x4 cars can be driven to the mine. when driving through the village, the asphalt road ends and a very good gravel road starts to drive about 2-3 km, if there is such a slightly steeper curve and a narrower gravel road goes to the left, some Greek blue signpost at the end of the road, drive along a narrow gravel road, as far as you dare and from then go on foot.Written June 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joanna B6 contributionsOne of our favourite beaches. Much less packed / touristy than Myrtos Beach. Felt more authentic Greek too. Kostas Taverna is also lovely authentic Greek Taverna. Great fish and salads at sensible prices. Will return.Written August 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gail M15 contributionsWe took a dinghy from the sailboat to swim in the sun and then explore the cool caves and crystal clear water. It was the coolest thing we have ever seen!Written June 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- emily9 contributionsinitially when you see the beach from the top it might look scary, but take with you shoes that are not flip flops, and take it slowly, and the beach below is definitely worth it. the water initially might not be super clean but if you go a bit further in the water is amazing. the other thing is, don't go very late during the day cause the tide goes up and by 8-9pm im not sure theres much beach left. but definitely worth a visit, and also walk around the place the views are gorgeousWritten August 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
