Right out of the TV show! As an Andy fan this was a cool place to visit. It looked almost just like what I've seen on TV for decades. Only thing missing was Otis was not drubk in the jail cell!

Our first stop in Mount Airy was the visitor center. The ladies working there were very friendly and knowledgeable. They got us on the list for a squad car tour. They directed us to some other sites we may be interested in.

This was a little stop on our tour of Main Street, Mount Airy. We didn’t go inside, as it is an actual barber shop, not just a tourist attraction. Still cool to see👍🏼

Great museum for The Andy Griffith Show and Andy himself. Lots of things from the show. Price wasn’t too bad. If I’m honest, it was probably smaller than I expected, but we still enjoyed it.

This is a town that is trying to mimic the iconic 1960’s show. It has the charm and the local stores are mostly geared for tourists. We had lunch and walked the main drag. The so called antique shops are a way to kill some time and worthwhile. If your a boomer like me it’s worth it. Enjoy

Affordable museum in which we had a blast in the toy room. Several adults in there, all of us having a good time. We plan on returning with our grandkids.

Lots of history with nice displays. Loved the top floor viewing area in which we overlooked the town nestled between the mountains.

    Friendly staff. Clean.

If you are interested in antiques, this is a place you’ll want to visit. If you like comics, this might be a good stop. My husband and son both wanted to go here to look at comic books. They were not disappointed. They both found several they wanted.

Ms. Gertrude Smith must have been a fascinating person. We learned about her accomplishments as an iterior designer and her business, a little about her family and the art collection in the house. Ms. Smith updated the decoration of some room while living there. Very interesting visit.

We got free admission since we went to the Andy Griffith Museum. They have a live radio show on Saturday mornings. It was okay but cold in the theater.

    Granite City Greenway.....sooooo nice!
Such a fun afternoon, round trip bicycle ride—-out and back about 13 miles. Very little elevation change , paved, along a meandering waterway, and just brief views of businesses along the way keeps this an enjoyable adventure.
