So pleased we stopped here whilst travelling from Woodstock to Stockbridge. The bridge was lovely as were the people tending to it. We were lucky to see it as there were many volunteers digging up plants to move them to a storage venue as the bridge will be closed in 2024 for essential repairs. Along with a coffee, a look at the glacial potholes, Shelburne Falls made a fabulous stop for a couple of hours before heading onto the Mohawk trail towards Williamstown.

I wouldn't plan a whole day around this stop but if you are in the area it is cool to see. A great side trip if you are doing the bridge of flowers.

We LOVE Apex Orchards, from the views to the staff, we have consistently had an excellent experience and we have met the owners a few times. The fruit is top quality, the farm owners clearly care about the quality of their fruit and their staff are always happy and helpful. Their land is well cared for and it is obvious the hard work they put in to make the farm a beautiful place for all to enjoy. They offer events on weekends and a new little food truck selling mini donuts and other things. From seasonal peach picking to sunflower picking to apple picking, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Or simply swing in the store and grab a prepicked basket or bag (that's what I do!) We HIGHLY recommend stopping in, it is always an enjoyable experience!

Such a lovely day!! The staff at this little gem of a museum, all volunteers, was so knowledgeable and friendly!! It was so tiny, only a few exhibits, but free unless you wanted to take a teeny little trolley ride and/or cruise up the track on a pump cart, in which case it was $5 pp! PLUS, nearby is the free-to-traverse Bridge of Flowers and free-to-see “Glacial Potholes,” a surprisingly amazing phenomenon.

The best maple ice cream! We go visit friends in Halifax Vermont and have made this a must stop. The maple ice cream is so great and fresh and full of flavor. They have many vegetables for sale, pastries and bread and have food too.

A beautiful medium sized waterfall. I would not recommend going here just to see the waterfall, but if you are in the area then it is good to see. Make sure to check out the Glacial potholes and the bridge of flowers.

Several relatives buried here. Beautiful spot. Explore all the old families. Careful going across Route 2 to the Cemetery Road.

This library is located in a gem of a building that you have to see to appreciate. The mosaic tiled floor, the painted murals on the walls, the friendly helpful librarians, and the extra services available make it great. If you can't find the book you want on their shelves, they will order it special for you.

Found this studio while exploring the back roads of the area en route to Vermont. What a surprise to find such sophistication hidden in the hills! Laurie turned a nice old dairy barn into a great working studio and gallery space. She kept much of the details intact, but made it work for her way of painting. She made us very comfortable, as did Boris, resident canine assistant (adorable). Her work is really beautiful and reminds me of Rothko sometimes. I see from her location why she paints the way she does...calm, soothing and inspiring.
We felt very lucky to have found her and have a new fav artist!
