Centennial Park Ellicott City 3.3 km away
#1 of 3 Nature & Parks in Ellicott City
At the center of Centennial Park are the blue waters of 54 acre Centennial Lake which is circumscribed by a scenic 2.6 mile paved pathway favored by walkers, joggers, skaters, skate boarders, family strollers, dog...
I also saw many kid's parks, people fishing, people playing basketball, many venues for having large barbeques/picnics and a boat rental area with kayaks, canoes and paddle boats.
Lake Kittamaqundi
#1 of 4 Nature & Parks in Columbia
Park in free lots, wander around very pleasant waterside, attractive artworks, some world class architecture, very convenient dining.
Easy to walk paved pathway through wooded trails, nature abounds and you are in the middle of a hustling area of Columbia.
Lake Elkhorn Park
#2 of 4 Nature & Parks in Columbia
This suburban park has a playground, a 2 mile paved trail, areas for playing ball or picnicking, a gazebo, and of course the beautiful lake.
I recommend this place to anyone who loves a nice quiet, serene atmosphere without a lot of noise, who just wants to enjoy what nature has to offer.
Robinson Nature Center
#3 of 4 Nature & Parks in Columbia
We have enjoyed the nature center year round, exploring the recently built natural playground outside, and the beautiful discovery room inside.
Those of us who live in the nearby neighborhoods are so lucky to have this beautiful nature preserve close by and if you are driving a long distance it is worth the trip.
Patuxent Branch Trail

Patapsco Valley State Park Ellicott City 12.0 km away
#2 of 3 Nature & Parks in Ellicott City
This park extends 32 miles along the Patapsco River covering 16,000 acres of recreation fun for hiking, cycling (mtn), running, fishing, camping, horseback riding, canoeing and picnicking.
Although the park is a favorite for serious runners and mountain bike enthusiasts, the 2+ mile paved path along the Patapsco River is a delight for even the most leisurely stroller.
Font Hills Wetlands Park Ellicott City 7.1 km away
#3 of 3 Nature & Parks in Ellicott City
It is a wetlands park, designed specifically as a wetland habitat so there are plenty of birds, cattails, and marshy areas.
This is a nice small park in the middle of the burbs, great short walk, easy to get too.
