- Linda F8 contributionsThis small museum is packed with quality memorabilia from the famous movie and other sources. The items are presented in a well organized and interesting manner. There are many stories to be told throughout the building, like the doll house, the real stuffed buffalo that became too big, the wood carving native american, and Chrysler's car. Outside are a few buildings that each have their own historical stories. Then there is the old mill that was moved to the park that has a whale shaped bond beside it. If interested and call ahead, you can arrange a tour of the mill. It's a tiny windmill, but has a unique history on it's own. Price for all of this is only $3 per person.Written March 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The team did a great job keeping the historic theater open and safe. The show was a lot of fun and the cast was really engaging with the audience during the show and after the show. They even sang me happy birthday outside the theater.Written October 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CDC2sailSpringfield, MO154 contributionsThe history of the Bible and Rifle Church parallels the settlement of the Kansas/Nebraska territory. In the mid-1850s, a group of colonists joined a small contingent of farmers in Wamego (Indian name meaning "Dawn of Day" and were instrumental in asserting Kansas as a free-, rather than slave-state. There is a 3-section historical placard on the main highway - four blocks away from the church. The cemetery, near the historical stop, is worth a drive-through as well.Written April 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ReadRibbet1,631 contributionsAcross from the Oz Museum is an alley that is decorated as the Yellow Brick Road. There is an archway over the path and you can walk between the two buildings whose walls are painted with a number of murals and Oz quotes. The alley leads to a local coffee shop and exits across the street from the city park. It is worth visiting before or after the Museum since it is close. There is a Toto statue at the beginning and end of the walkway. It is free to walk through and street aprking is nearby.Written August 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Pierre STopeka, KS84 contributions50 acres of tallgrass prairie that once covered the Midwest. Wildflowers cover the area, making a beautiful backdrop intertwined with trees and other native vegetation. The site itself was part of a farm involved with the Underground Railroad and early Kansas history.
